well I'll tell you where I'm from but I bet most of you had never heard of it, Mebane here, its about 15 minutes west of Burlington or 30 minutes east of Chapel Hill, speaking of which that's where I work as a Security Guard.
Being as that is where my gun range is I'd say a few people have heard of it.

Damn, guys, I've only got a 12' john boat with a 4 and a half HP Merc on the back. I can't possibly haul all of you and the beer coolers.
High Rock. Wow! That brings back memories. Remember the mud parties years ago when the lake was drawn down? 4x4's, mud buggies, hot wimmenz, broken driveline parts, blown engines, beer, scantily clad babes, broken u-joints, toasted transfer cases, hotties? Neither do I. |

hahaha, with all the beer I'd bring I don't think you could even haul the beer coolers with that itty bitty engine. |

Is that little shooting range still there on a access road going into TuckerTown Dam , right there on the Denton side off Highway 49 ? Denton is fairly close to Gold Hill. Shooting and/or fishing is ALWAYS good anytime. |
Nope, FS closed it down shortly after Flintlock Valley opened. Probably for the best, that place was an accident waiting to happen. |

I usually shoot at Pointsette State Park, it only goes out to 100 but enough for open sites on my AR and soon to own a M1 Garand from the 1950's. They also have a separate pistol range i dust off my Norinco .45 ACP at. Great people volunteer at the range, very friendly |

I beg to differ, I think that's Chapel Hell. |

Sly,
Greenville is full of gays and used to host the Down East Gay/Bisexual/Lesbian festival. Thanks to poor turnout the festival is no more. The Freedom Loving United Socialist Peoples Republik of Chapel Hell is the Berkley of the East Coast. Where is a M3 Half-track with Quad .50 when you need one? |
that i will agree too. I am just so glad that I only work in Chapel Hell, not live there, I feel sorry for you man. I'll get to work on finding those M3 Half trak's. Maybe come save you. lol. |

My roommate and I had two guys who just moved in downstairs over for beers tonight who are from the Mayberry area. Small world isn't it... I live in Raleigh and Oxford (about 25min up I-85 from Durham). My bad habits are mostly Black Rifle Carbines. |

This will probably get edited out but I have property in Watauga County(Grandfather Area) and I'm back home for a week every August for a family reunion! (they're seems to be a scarcity of members from the "High country.")

Hey, Sly_C... you ever shoot at DPRC? (www.dprc.org)
I live in Hillsborough, and I work in Chapel Hill, at UNC Chapel Hill. I manage an IT shop about 2 buildings away from Franklin St. -Rob |

yep, but only once, M-Forgery, u352, and I got togethor probably two months ago now and shot the hell outa some targets out there. I'd really like to become a member, they have plenty of space and I'm in the need for a bigger range with my Mosin, AK, and soon AR, but their startup fees are too rich for my blood. A Fellow UNC Worker huh? small world. |

Taylorsville... Just North of Hickory... Former US Marine, current High School Assistant Principal... (can you tell that I enjoy being in the thick of things! Both jobs rate combat pay, but only the Corps gave it to us!)
Enjoy service/tactical weapons ie; AR15, G23, SA XD-9, M1 Garand, Thompson M1 (semi), Winchester 70 300 wsm, Ruger M77 .308 & 30.06, Taurus PT140, etc... Would like to find a "relaxed" range atmosphere out to 1K yards... Bill |

Hey AJAX72!
I live right over the bridge in Alexander Cty., let me know if your ever shooting locally! Which firm do you work for? My wife used to do real estate para stuff... mostly in newton and statesville... she does title insurance now (in statesville)... if you do real estate, i'm sure you've heard of her. She's quite the gal! Heck, she puts up with this ol' jarhead! |

Hey BC,
Wanna do a lunch at Bethlehem Restraunt one day? Great stew beef and pretty fair chocolate cream pie. That is if you don't mind a ex Coastie as company. Found a pretty good range but only out to 125 yards right now. Let me know. FFF |
Sure! I only live about 5 minutes from there! Drop me an IM!
Bill C. PS - I'm originally from the coast as well! You know the difference between a yankee and a damn yankee don't ya? The damn yankee brought their luggage! I'm a damn yankee! |

Know Talorsville pretty well, Sgt. I work for the guy who is known as the "Meanest Bastard in the State".
Yeah, I'm lookin for work. When I go shooting I usually go to the mountains or to a friends place down towards Lincolnton. I would be glad to get to know you, but I must warn you - I have "grown" since my military service (bad hours, bad job, bad eatin, and not enough women). Not too many people around here from the board. FFF: Where is my invite??? (must be a coastie/jarhead thing). |
Sorry bout that, not a coastie/jarhead thing, just a wee bit of the ol brain fade. Had a weekend of honey do's but maybe mid week or so we could all get together at the BR for a glass of tea and war stories. FFF |
