[ARCHIVED THREAD] - any local range allow 50 BMG

I have my 50 BMG on order and am in the process of building my home range and backstop. however, I don't like the idea of sighting in here..... just need a controlled safe area I can get it sighted in at 50-100 yards

I don't know if the Conservation Department forbids 50's. Probably, but we have fired them at Finger Lakes CA.

MDC does not allow 50 bmg on their ranges. It's stupid, but that is the rule.

Former Range Supervisor claimed 50 BMG would penetrate the berms.

Bring her down to Farmington. I'll take you out to 67 gun club. We go out to 300.

Back in the old days of this site several of us shot at Finger Lakes. One of our site staff members shot a bucket about half full of Tannerite at the 100 yard back stop with his .50 BMG and left a fairly good size divot.

But otherwise, that range supervisor is full of baloney unless the back stop is paper thin.
