Then a couple of A10s (but I didn't get any still pics), and finally this chopper. I don't know much about choppers; is this a Blackhawk?

They're on to you, dibs on guns . Anyways, yes, that looks like a Blackhawk to me.

I saw 2 B2's over Rolla last week. Did a huge circle and headed back to Whiteman I guess

Thanks. I love seeing/hearing military aircraft.

I enjoy it as well. I see F/A-18s quit often. I miss the F-15s that used to frequent the area.

If you fly over, give me the wing-tip signal so I know it's you.

I'm apparently on one of the B2's regular flight paths in/out of Whiteman, see them pretty frequently overhead.

This morning, walking the dog at 1:00 a.m., saw three large jets in formation flying E->W.  Assuming they were B2's, though of course all I could see were the nav lights, and they were a bit too far north of me to hear them clearly (B2's have a distinctive sound; don't know what it is but I can always tell when there's one overhead).  Don't know what other large jets would have been flying in formation in this neck of the woods.

If it weren't for the fact that these were headed towards Whiteman instead of away, I'd have been watching for news about NK disappearing later today.

That's awesome.

Before Grandma died, she lived in Grandview.  We would travel Hwy 50 to get there and would occasionally see the Stealth doing touch and go.

In Grandview, we often saw A-10 streaking around... became my favorite plane.

I really miss the traffic in the skies when Richards Gebaur was still a thing.

A few years back I saw a B2 attached to a refueling tanker way, way up in the sky over my house.  Even at that altitude I knew it was a B2 and struggled to spot it.  Made me wonder where they were headed where they had to refuel shortly (relatively, as the crow flies) after takeoff.  Maybe it was training or something but I like to think they were loaded down with bombs on a long trip to take out some baddies.

I was lucky enough to get 30mins in the B-2 sim at Whiteman AFB several years ago. Good times.

Cool stuff.

I see Whiteman has an air show coming up. I hope to make it there.
