Right!  I believe the verbiage is paraphrased as, "treat cans just like long guns".  Which means make them at will, as long as you're not "in the business of making...", and serial number engrave them if you so desire.  

And before anybody says otherwise, it absolutely IS legal to sell a gun you made yourself. But IMO, I would serialize and document the sale well if sold to a stranger.
