I'm looking to purchase another machine gun but can't figure out what.  I already have an RR and M11/9 - what should be on my list?

The RDIAS haven't gotten too expensive and the HK sears are up there as well.  What are some other options?

how much are you willing to spend on the auto?  what about $ on ammo (and what do you think you will shoot, ie rounds a year)?  wanting a rifle cartage or pistol?

If I ever got into MGs I'd want an UZI.

275 rounds of .22 LR, 1,800 rpm goodness.

I never could get mine to run 100 %, a friend of mine had one than never failed to empty a drum.

Ruger AC556 is a hell of a MG for the money.

But if the budget allows a Thompson 1928 all the way.  The late 70's "1928's" can be had in the $20K range, but I'd love to have a true Colt or Savage from the old days......the non-pistol grip M1's are a little cheaper.

Here are a few options based on what I have enjoyed shooting, good investments and good buys.

Uzi
FNC
HK Sear
DIAS
Colt M16
Sterling
AK-47/74
M60

Maybe $20k or so.  I'm not worried about ammo - I'll buy more.  I also don't really care about rifle or pistol - just no 'odd' calibers.

I guess it is iconic, but I can't imagine it offers a much different experience than my M11/9 with a Lage upper.

Do these exist 'in the wild' or do you have to coax them out of people's hands with crazy amounts of money?

Hmm...the M1 and the M1A1 sort of call to me....

I guess that is the other issue to consider - where are these gun's price right now?  Are there any 'buys' to be had?

To honest, I've been away from machine guns for so long I have no idea.

I'll make you sick....

I paid for a NIB M11/9........................................$165.00 Sold for $3,300.00
M-16A1.........................$650.00 Sold for $5,500.00
Steyr AUG REGISTERED RECEIVER.........................$825.00. Sold for $2,950.00
Powder Springs MAC-10 .45..............Traded a Beta Company C-Mag for it (straight across) (back then the C-Mags were selling for $600.00, I had $123.00 in it.)
Post 86 Dealer Sample HK G3-SG1 w/Zeiss scope IIRC $600.00
These are just a FEW examples of what went through my hands.

That's why I CAN'T bring myself to pay current prices (not that I could)

I own both an Uzi and an M11A1 and can tell you that it won't offer much of a different experience.  That being said, comparing my Laged up M11A1 and the UZI, the Uzi is a much better package.  The simple 45 and 22 conversions don't hurt either.

There aren't that many great options  under 20k given you already own a RR M16.  The Uzi would be a great choice but as I said, it kind of just another open bolt 9mm subgun.  The Sterling is a wonderful gun, possibly the smoothest 9mm subgun ever made.  Suppressed it is even better.  Other than that, as mentioned before, an American 180 or a Norell 10/22 pack would be interesting but given your other guns, you probably already have the full auto 22 option covered.

Anyway, I don't know where you are, but if you are on the eastern side of the state, I'd be happy to let you give my uzi a run.

You already have two extremely versatile guns.

If I were in your exact situation I would get a 1919.

But, I'm a shooter, my next "MG" will probably be an 02/07 and to the hell with transferables.

I was going to say mini Uzi, but then I went and looked at current prices.

Those things were 7-8k when I was pricing them just a few years ago. I went with a HK sear instead, but that seemed like a pretty reasonable price at the time. I'd just say fuck it and get a HK21 if I was buying now.

Since you didn't care about ammo cost, I would second the 1919.  M2 or MG43 would be fun also.

I kinda agree with the others though that between what you have now and the price range it would be hard.  Some model of thompson is all I would say of the top of my head.

Yeah but they are fun. A MM23 is what I'm currently lusting after. I keep telling my wife it's almost stupid not to buy one since I have the sear.

Now there are some interesting ideas.  I would prefer local - my last dealer purchase was not the best.  I guess that limits me to what people in MO want to sell!  Anybody have an MG43 I can shoot?

This.

Funnest gun I've ever shot.  Guy in Houston TX suppressed his as well.

It's like a water hose of lead.  Brass dropping like the movies.  Ammo is cheap as well.

With the Ruger all the fun is done in a second.

Not many sales to base a price off of.  Is www.machinegunpriceguide.com accurate on this gun?
