I will be in the North KC / Briarcliff area later this month. Where are the best places to shoot?  I dont mind driving 25+ miles for a nice place.  Also how about BBQ?  Or good gun stores?

What firearms will you be bringing?  That may help in directing you to the appropriate ranges.

Don't know if you reload or not but if you do and can get away during business hours Mon.-Fri., drive an hour and 45 minutes to Sedalia and go to the Sierra Bullets outlet. I believe that they will allow you to purchase up to 100lbs of blems per day. Might as well ask to be given a tour of the plant while you are there.
We have a decent BBQ joint ( Kehdes ) and a good catfish house and if you drive interstate 70 to south 65 you will pass pretty close to 2 unstaffed public ranges.
If you decide to do this, let me know 2-3 days out and I'll see if I can meet you and show you around.

There's a great place in North Kansas City called Smokin Guns BBQ. Also a really good burger place down there called Tay's Burger Shack.

As far as shooting, head out to Lee's Summit and go to Frontier Justice. VERY nice range and you'll be able to shoot everything you listed, plus they have rentals. They are overpriced on everything, but I'll go to their range.

If burnt ends is your game, go to Wabash in Excelsior Springs, just north of the city.

After 3 years of intensive study, I'd name them the best BBQ in the area.

I wasn't impressed with Wabash. Joe's, LC's, and Q39 are all far superior.

When we ate there, I had a pulled pork sandwich and it tasted like they boiled it in a pot on the stove. No smoke flavor whatsoever.

Every single KC native I've taken there have all become converts.

You might be broken.

Jack Stack. Get the Grand Royal beef ribs. Thank me later.

For burnt ends, it's worth your time to try Smokin' Bob's in Springfield.

Now that ya mention it, I'm not even a KC native, so my opinion don't mean shit anyway.

I do have folks here who would vouch for my prowess as a food connoisseur, however.
