There's nothing wrong with having nothing to say, unless you insist upon saying it.
I'm ashamed that the party I've affialed myself with for the last 28 years has nothing better to offer me, the voter. I really believe that politicians should have to quit their current job to run for the next. That might reduce the "peter principle" in politics. Geesh.. Think I'll "renounce" my party with Missouri following this election and become a "libertarian" with a lower case l. |

Wish there was a way to get Steelman or Brunner back in the race. |

I've seen some of the fallout over that comment wasn't there another republican that is higher than him to win the election? I thought I heard something about that.

Regardless of how he, I, or anyone feels about rape or abortion, he just made himself look like an idiot. Hopefully people will decide that even having an idiot in the Senate is better than McCaskill. ![]() |

As much as McCaskill paid to have him pushed to the forefront, is it possible he was a plant to begin with? I mean, half of the Republican party is worthy of suspicion at this point.

1/2 of Congress is suspicious. The ONLY goal of a first term Congressman is to become and Second Term Congressman. We'd be better off with my wife's school student council over these morons.

It was all over the national news this morning. The DNC is trying to tie this comment around the neck of every Republican candidate. What a dumbass. Claire needs to go and this joker isn't going to get the job done at this rate. I didn't vote for him in the primary anyway. Of course, he's back peddling...saying he mis-spoke. YA THINK?!?!?! Idiot.

There is nothing a single congress critter to do to overturn Roe v. Wade. I could care less about his view of abortion or McCaskil's for that matter. McCaskil is a vile human and needs to be removed from office. With luck the media will move onto a new shiny thing and the public's goldfish like attention span will allow this to pass.

Exactly right most people have figured that out and realize abortion is a non-issue except for this idiot. It ain't changing anytime soon. He should've kept those insane thoughts to himself. |

It's certainly picking up steam in the MSM. I wouldn't be surprised if he resigns the campaign by the end of the day.
ETA: Well, maybe not... Akin Apologizes, Stays in Race ***UPDATE MONDAY 12:20 P.M.***
Missouri Rep. Todd Akin apologizes for rape pregnancy comments made during a television interview Sunday. The representative says he will stay in Senate race. |

According to MO law he needs to leave the race by Sept 25th or the Republican party will have to pay to reprint all the ballots for the state if he pulls out later. If he resigns or pulls out the party will pick a replacement for the ticket. The problem is that if they did this the sigma of this stupid comment will be still be attached to whom ever they pick. The RNC has already informed him they will not give him anymore money for his campaign. The one group that was running ads against Clair has already announced they will run no more commercials in MO. For the good of the state the dumb ass needs to leave the ticket.

If there's one good thing about this, it's that his comments were so patently ridiculous and inappropriate that it's obvious they represent the views of an individual, not the party in general. |

Well, maybe. ![]() |

I walked by a T.V. and Obama was jumping all over this in a press conference. With a big chunk of his backing pulled Aiken is a dead stick at this point. I'll take Aiken being a dumbass over Mccaskil if it comes to it. If he bows out maybe they should put Steelman in the mix against Mccaskil. |

Id take her over a guy who voted for the NDAA, Akin was questioned about voting for it, his response was that its ok because it would never be used lol, then he went on to explain that its ok for them to make unconstitutional laws because the supreme court would fix it. Id prefer Brunner but I dunno the committee would nominate either one, itll probably be John Ashcroft Jim Talent or someone like that .
