I have some aluminum NIW 30rd U.S.A. Magazines you can have. I don't know if they jam or not but they do have such a bad reputation that I would not even try them. You are welcome to them if you want them.

thanks, i will grab them from you. if they don't i would think cutting a couple of coils off the springs might help matters then.

LOL...Or grinding off some of the feed lips should also do it if they don't jam on their own.

I have several of the RamLine "Combo" mags (AR-15 & Mini-14), if there is a worse mag out there I've never encountered it!

I have a USGI mag that came back home from Iraq that is a total piece of shit. Black tilting follower and all. The thing has no finish left on it hardly at all, its beat to hell. but Ill be damned it still runs ok in my AR. I'm keeping it tho, It was given to me by a friend that used it during the battle of Fallujah. He said it was one of the mags that he used to get hits on an insurgent or two.

I would have that magazine framed with picture of your friend in uniform, a brief story, and mount it in a place of honor.

I had some of those that were clear. Worked in my Bushmaster but stovepiped my Mini 14 at the time.

WS-6. What's your plan for the mag? Training/malfunction clearing drills? Or a project of some sort? Just wondering.

thanks again BK. i was playing around with some dummy rounds with them tonight. first time i slammed the mag in it tossed the 1st round. when i was manually cycling it (quickly pulling the carrier to the rear and releasing so it would slam home) i got a really nice double feed. pulled another mag out and loaded it and noticed the 1st round was sitting at a really odd angle, when i went to charge the gun it double feed again. i have picks i will post tommorow

yep, training. i plan to paint the bottoms orange. with how bad they feed i don't think they are fixable (they are pre-ban mags). i don't think there is enough metal on the lips to make then work right unless you are using them for jam drills like i plan to.

ETA: now to find 9mm and .40 glock mags that do the same... i think this will be harder

No doubt. Even my Korean knockoff mags are reliable.

ok, first time running the dummy rounds through did this:

second time through did this:

after i took those 2 picks i pulled a second mag out and did the same. when i slammed the mag in the first round kicked out of the mag again (with only 5 rounds in the mag). bolt dropped fine but then when i cycled it the thing triple feed. had to get plier out to pull stuff out

i think they will work just fine hopefully not too good though. i would like to get some shots between jams off.

Just do what I do and toss some dummy rounds into your "range" ammo can. Then load them randomly into magazines and try not to pay attention to where you loaded them. I've had to expel orange dummy rounds at matches before because I forgot I loaded them. Better yet, have a buddy load your mags for you, though sometimes they can be sneaky bastards about it.
