THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I'm looking for some sand to go around the outside of an above ground pool. The pool has been around for MANY years and much of the sand (and soil) on the outside perimeter has washed away over the years. Don't need any fancy grade of sand ––- just something like playground sand or something you'd mix with concrete?? I'd guess 3000 or 4000 pounds of dry sand would be enough for this job.

So... any of you know someone that could deliver this to my house for a reasonable cost? Please let me know!

There is a major sand company near Ameristar Casino that pulls sand out of the river
If you have a truck, you could haul so much at a time

I've bought sand and gravel from Sturgis before. They were very reasonable on the small quantities that I've bought, so I'm sure larger quantities would be reasonable too. I've never had them deliver anything though.

I know this is way "off topic" for this forum ––- but just in case anyone else needs sand or gravel delivered I just wanted to let you know where I got it. Ordered from Holliday Sand and Gravel Co. on Thursday afternoon (late afternoon) ––- had 3+ tons of sand delivered to my driveway early the next morning. The delivery wasn't exactly cheap, but it saved me a lot of trouble trying to make multiple trips and the possibility of breaking/damaging something on my OLD 1/2-ton pickup. These people were FAST and PROFESSIONAL!

The sand itself was cheap ––- $10.65 per ton (medium grade ––- pretty sure it was for mixing with concrete). The delivery was a flat rate for up to 15 tons (if I correctly remember what they told me) ––- $160.00. Yes, a lot of money for delivery ––- but needing this much material is rare for me. I don't have a trailer and my 18-year old F150 1/2-ton truck (with the 4.9L inline six and Mazda 5-speed manual transmission) had me thinking that letting them bring the stuff to me was the way to go! [Break something on the pickup truck and the expense goes way up, right??]

thanks for the follow up and sharing the price. I am in the process of doing some work around a small range so that will help me out.

I have to get it delivered as well so the cost you quoted is actually not that bad
