I haven't heard anything from Jorge. We haven't been "rejected" but we havent' been "approved." We might just be ahead to go with those and make the changes we need. It would be nice if they'd customize them like they will the cotton t-shirts. |

I think we could get away with customizing those bfl shirts ourselves, I can't see why there would be a problem with as the logo is already there. Think I got the issue with the heal slip in my shoes the new way of lacing them seemed to do the trick. Wore my vff's to the uspsa match at pioneer figured Id get some flak for it but no one noticed, worked great too I could feel all the shooting boxes and fault line with my feet. Today was warmup running push ups situps pull ups and some weight lifting. Hope things are well with you guys! Andrew |

Good news...ended up in West Memphis on my way back home from a quick vacation to NW Arkansas and made my buddy finally sign up. We officially now have one more to the team and I also spoke with the SO's younger brother and his friend who just completed a Warrior Dash and I believe they are in as well, but haven't signed up yet.

Feels a heck of a lot better. Did some walking with the lady while we were back in NWA and have begun introducing running into the routine. I was doing a 1/4 mile last week at the end of my walks. Once we get all the way back down to MS on Wednesday I'll probably bump it to 1/2 mile for a week and then increase from there. Trying to ease back in very gradually by basically just walking the same amount and slowly making more of the end of the walk a jog instead. Good news is this is the perfect way to completely transition to my minimalist shoes as well.
Always trying to find the little glimmer of positive. Was really hoping to have progressed further than I have by now, but at least it could be worst. |

I am absolutely in love with them...I can tell even from walking around in them and the little bit of running I've been able to do that I've increased strength as well as improved balance. Since I have the trails I'm thinking about purchasing a pair of the zero's in the road form as my next pair.
Glad to hear you got the heel slip issue worked out. I really want to use these to run the TM in, but I just discovered they really feel quite slick when on wet surfaces. It might have just been a couple times, so I'll have to test them more, but it would worry more for that even where you have to run up the halfpipe |

I picked up some new shoes. I went with the Merril Bare Access. The New Balance just didn't fit me right. I'm just starting out. I've only done one run in them (about 1 1/2 miles of intervals) and they are certainly lighter. Planning on working up mileage gradually.
Also, had to renew my team membership today so I went ahead and ordered one of the high performance t-shirts. I'll let you guys know what I think. btm, glad you got your friend signed up! We're getting there!! |

Awesome, I was hitting it pretty hard but this last week Ive bumped it down to 4 days, osha is getting ready to run us through the ringer at work so my evenings have been spent doing paper work and trying to get things in order for their inspection. Next week Ill be able to hit it hard again like I was.

Shin is a lot better...I've been running about a mile and a half now without pain really. I can usually feel it the next day, but it never gets very bad or even close to unbearable. I figure with the timeframe I'm really just going to have to take it very slow and do smaller increases than normal, and as long as it doesn't get any worse I can deal with it being a little sore most of the time. The friend who signed up for TM with us and I are doing a 5K in Memphis in early August. He's really not a runner, but has been keeping at it for about a month now doing the couch to 5k program. I was afraid I'd be way behind him in training since I stopped running for about 4 weeks, but we went out this past weekend together and I'd say we are about in the same spot. Made me feel a lot better and it's been an enjoyable experience for both of us thus far.

Like I said, the shirt wasn't what I expected but I think it'll work. I haven't worn it as much as I expected. I buggered up my elbow somehow and I had a lot of swelling and fluid build up (one day it looked like I had a cantelope under my skin). Running jostled it and it hurt so I've just done some walking. Of course, the elbow also messed with the push-ups and weight-lifting. It's doing much better and I'm hoping to get back at it tomorrow. Anyway, the shirt seemed pretty cool. I don't think it'll shed mud as well as the old slick style, but I think it'll do better than cotton. What's our next step on that? |

Let's ask this...would you want to wear the shirt during TM or find another solution?
Did go out and ran/walked about 5 miles once, but haven't been running nearly as much this past week as I was on vacation. I have been getting some workouts in trying to keep up with this little guy...my birthday present from the SO. ![]() |

Next step would be design and a local screen printer there is a place in kc that does direct printing on the shirt and will do small orders like ours Ill give them a ring tomorrow and get an idea of price. If there is another shirt out there that you feel would work better Im not opposed to using it instead at this point I honestly don't think site staff will care what 4 or 5 runners put on there shirts. Long story short compressed a disc Monday lifting a object in a way that was stupid, got in my morning run before the accident but havent done anything since went to the chiropractor a couple times hes got me back to where I can move again so Ill be doing my run in the morning and hopefully working back slowly into the grove of things. I hate it when stuff like this interferes with my routine makes me feel like crap.

Update: Getting the designs squared away for the shirts, Ill PM you guys with links to the designs when they are finished. Called a local screen printing place yesterday they said they cant do anything with spandex blends, Im going to call them again tomorrow and see if they can do the double knit nylon. What are you guys planning on doing for lodging? Thinking about staying at the johnson shut ins its a drive to the park but I think the wife and kids will get more enjoyment out of it than hanging around poplar bluff all day. Going to hit a 5.5 mile trail Saturday at Knob Noster state park if any local ARFCOMers wanna join me.

Pretty sure my friend and I will be heading over Friday at some point and getting a hotel for the night before. Probably will go back to Memphis shortly after the race though to go celebrate on Beale. Any more updates with the shirts?
How are everyones injuries/workouts coming along? I am happy and extremely relieved that I am now not only back to where I was before I hurt myself, but running faster as well. Right before I injured myself I was doing 3 miles at about 10:00 min/mile...I'm currently running 3 miles 4 times a week at about 9:00min/mile. Got the 5K in a week and a half to really push myself and see how fast I can go. What I have been slacking on is any sort of weight/muscle building exercises for my upper body. Really have been focused on getting slimmed down first, but I figure with only a couple months left I really need to start hitting that area hard to. I've also discovered that I may need to find some new shoes to run in. I have done a bit of trail running and I need to either toughen my feet up or find something slightly thicker. Stepping on a sharp rocks does not feel good in those Minimus shoes! |

Ive got the design pretty much done just need to take the time and sit down and find outlines of the three states. Its just been a rat race between work kids and training. I had to ditch the zeros tongue started to separate from the shoe swapped em out for the 10`s sewn uppers seem way more durable. Been running in the AM and push ups pull ups situps in the evening off days Ive been doing the TM boot camp, the one with 5 circuits its pretty intense. Got a great 6 mile trail run week before last, love the dirt way easier on my feet. Went to a clinic on nutrition for marathon runners last week picked up some great advice on what to eat pre during and post run and some other little tips like carrying a packet of mustard and consuming it to get rid of any cramps during the run. Been having some troubles with my left heal think its a pinched nerve doesn't hurt when running or walking just when I stretch kick a ball or do walk outs. Ill take the time the next few days to get the shirt designs completed.

This email was somehow buried in my mailbox. I’m sorry for the lengthy delay in getting back to you. We can print simple designs on our performance apparel, or if you want to use the logo for a limited run of shirts we can possibly grant permission for that, as long as we have a set number of shirts and they will not be sold. Thanks, Jorge Avila AR15.com |
