In the state of Alabama, if you have guns and you don't have a will or trust, what happens to the guns when you die? Does the state get them? They are registered to a friend's brother in law that had passed away.

I am not a lawyer. However, there is no registration for firearms in the state of Alabama. Firearms are personal property, so my guess is whoever probate declares the next of kin would receive the property.

 this this is certainly a good reminder that we should have our affairs in order.
