The weather, ice and snow mean squat to me.
It's the thousands of idiots on the road with me that terrify me.
I started my trek home (Shelby Co) from downtown Birm somewhere around noon 2-3 years ago, and 14 hours later ended up giving up on getting home and spent the night at the shop.
I'd never seen anything like it, piles of 20-30 cars EVERYWHERE, every path home blocked/impassible, backtrack, go another way, same.
People were getting out of their cars in the middle of the road, locking up, and walking away, abandoning them in place.
Emergency services were overwhelmed, completely unavailable on secondary roads.
I watched women in short skirts/no jacket walking down Greensprings with it mid-20's out after abandoning their vehicles in place.
Absolutely NO ONE could fathom not being able to drive home 20-40 miles in the comfort of a heated vehicle.
