Buying a new toy on the interweb machine and need an FFL. It's been about 10 years since my last internet gun purchase. Who do you go to around town. I live in Gardendale and work in Birmingham.

Bill was my go to guy. Unfortunately he is on the other side of town and transfers are free for members at Hoover Tactical. |

I'm not sure if Jerry Bell is still doing transfers or not, but that is who most of mine went through when I lived down there.

Bill is good people.
TS Arms is good people, and the owner is an ARFCOMer. |

I've got a buddy that lives out in Odenville that will need his services pretty soon. Where in Leeds is Bill located?

They told me that they recently had an ATF audit in December, and the ATF auditor "advised" them not to accept transfers from individuals. So they were no longer accepting inbound transfers from individuals. Not certain if it's a new ATF policy, or perhaps the ATF discovered some situation unique to HTF. |

+1 for Bill, but he is far away.
I haven't used yellowhammer arms as an ffl, but I have bought a few things from them and he is willing to work with you. 15.00 too so its not bad. Yellowhammer FFL Info I also had good luck with FOP range, but I am also a member. |

I ended up using Grabow outdoors in fultondale. It was $25, a little higher than others but it's less than 10 minutes from me. They were super nice. I bought the gun from deguns and they didn't have grabow's ffl license info on file. Grabow had the info to deguns immediately. Good experience.

I think he is. I saw an item on gun broker and he was the seller. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I haven't spoken to him recently, but AFAIK he still is. Great guy, helped me with several purchases and transfers even though I am not in B'ham any more. |

The cool thing about this thread.. is that we have so many options here in Alabama.
I saw in some kind of a survey that they have single digit numbers of FFLs in some liberal states... |

It's been years since I've been to Hoover tactical but I never had good service. Even bought a rifle, boots, and a jacket from there.
I'd be willing to go back by, just to see if it is any better. I'd like to work a trade if they won't lowball me. |

papasmurf ran off a bunch of the problems there over the last couple of years.

Mustang munitions posted to their Facebook yesterday that they are now closed. I did a transfer there about 3 weeks ago and the shop was pretty empty and they said they were waiting on components to get manufacturing started up again.

I use TS Arms in Pelham. Same here, Tim is a great guy. I'm going to buy all of my pistols etc there from now on. The transfer was flawless. I was tracking the delivery, ant they called me within an hour after delivery to tell me it was ready to pickup. And while I was there, I found a nice AK... I like doing business with Tim and his team. Good people. |

I went to TS Arms for a transfer this week, and couldn't believe how many pistols were in stock. They may have the largest pistol inventory in the Bham area. The transfer was flawless. Yep. TS Arms is my go-to for all things. They've built me two ARs in the last few months, and I just picked up three lowers on transfer today. View Quote I have to be at the Pelham PD a couple of days next week (work-related), are they close by? |

Less than two miles up the road.
They also have a museum that's really cool. http://www.tsarms.com/ Ask for Tim, tell him Brad sent you. |

I impulse bought a suppressor at TS Arms last June. My stamp came in the first of May. Everything was flawless.
A few years ago I bought an SKS from an individual just because the price was right. I walked in and asked them about it because I had heard their commercials on the radio and I was in the area. I knew nothing about SKS'S and they took the time to tell me a little about them. I appreciate that. I'm not close enough to use them on a regular basis, but I will check with them on larger purchases because of the previous service I have received. |
