I'll be temporarily moving to Hartselle about a month from now. Living arraignments are already made. I'll be looking for a part time job until I get my A&P license though. Full time would better as long as they don't mind if I work on getting the cert after being hired. I would like to find something aviation maintenance related if possible. I have 10 years of AD aircraft maintenance experience and 2 years in the AF Reserves.

Welcome to the area.  In addition to the Yulista position already mentioned, Science and Engineering Services (SES) in Huntsville just announced a big aircraft project that will likely result in them hiring a few people.

Let us know if you need the low down on the local places to shoot, gun stores, restaurants, etc.

Welcome neighbor. i live about 10 miles west of Hartselle. Do you shoot any competitions? we have several ranges in the area that run USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge and 3 gun.

Also well known trainer Frank Proctor's place is about 2 hours away. He runs alot of classes and shoots at his range.

I spent 8 years in Hartselle during my younger years. I don't do competitions but would love to find a place that is at least 500 yards for the 50. I saw an article about SES. I do have experience on the HH-60s so that might be helpful.

There is a 500 yard range in Cullman, and Brock's Gap in Hoover has 2 ranges that are 550-750 IIRC. I'm not sure about Brock's Gap's rules on 50s though.

I'm in the Hartselle area also.... I don't think you're going to find any jobs in your field here, but there will definitely be some in Huntsville.

Which the drive isn't too bad... I live in Hartselle and work in Huntsville.
