I'm glad you asked!!!

Thanks to xxx for all of this base station equipment.

I have a HF base station and a 2m base station.

Here is the 2m antenna.

I haven't installed the HF antenna and base station yet.

Both of them need a power supply and for me to build a rack. Here is my new reloading bench/ham shack.

Also, got the surround sound in, and the TV for the wife lady woman.

And, my 21 FT rope.

The boy is starting IPDFPSC or wtf ever it is. He got his own AR this week.

One of my daughters has become an expert @ land nav. This is her doing the ESEE course @ Randalls. Awesome group of dudes up there.

http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/bobjonesar15/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_0328_zpsblk3dlx8.jpg

My other daughter just likes boys and could give a shit less about any of this. Although she does a good job with the Rabbits.

I've been slacking lately, kudos on all of the above!!!  HAM-wise, do you plan on going with a base station or just rolling with your HT?

Yessir! That one is made by an arfcommer.

I own three of his knives, and they are amazingly priced for awesome craftsmanship.

I think that one is the Hunter lite.

Different one.

I think I've got knives from 5 or 6 arfsmiths.

Have you researched solar panels?

I have not.

I know I'm not really a good candidate for anything large scale due to my house being surrounded by 70 foot trees.

There might be a lurker here that knows a shitton about solar though. I'll let him decide if he wants to discuss it.

Couple of updates.

Comms test (40 miles) over 2m was a bust. Apparently I'm not high enough to reach the low ground on the other side of the mountain. Bummer.

HF is next.

Spent the last two weekends rebuilding the front porch.

99% done.

I bought some sheet metal to wrap around the table under the press, but I haven't put it on yet. I've got some feelers out to buddies to help me get setup. Probably be Christmas before I make a functional cartridge.

Is there a such thing as "attempted mad carpentry skills"?

If so, that's probably a better description.

My dad is a master carpenter, so that helps. I call him when I get into a pickle.

I'm just not sure 35 ft is enough to matter. I think I'm going to try 10m first, and see if I can get 50 miles of simplex out of it.

Thanks dudes!

I'm getting better about not losing appendages.

I think it helps that I have teenage supervisors who are more skilled at safety than I am.

Moving along nicely.

I've also finished the treehouse, procured some mo-betta transportation, and been working on precision gear. I finally got one of my buddies in on the DM game.

Rebuilt the front porch too. Need to get some pics of that.

Right now I'm setting up to reload 308, since M118LR is next to impossible to find, and when you do, it's north of $1.50 a round. I can reload it for about $.70.

Pics of the porch and treehouse in the next few days.

Been doing a decent amount of training too. Between lighthorse tactical and talon defense, there is always something cool going on.

Two day injured shooter (very physical class)

Some nighttime FoF with lighthorse.

EDIT: Realize I had already posted some of this stuff. Removed dupes.

on all of the above.  My team attended the injured shooter class last summer in Gadsden, I missed out since I had to be in Selma to help teach firearms.  They said that it was physical, but picked up on some extremely useful techniques.  Get yourself a 2" drop belt loop for your Safariland rigs, you'll thank me.

Thanks man!

I'm going to revive the thread if I can.

I dunno why, but about every 4 years or so, I get an itch to start improving my preps.
