The father was the registered owner of the gun.
Umm no; there is no registration. |

Umm no; there is no registration. I noticed that. The radio said that as of this morning the prosecutor didn't know if they were going to file charges! |

Umm no; there is no registration. I have to explain that on a daily basis! I noticed that. The radio said that as of this morning the prosecutor didn't know if they were going to file charges! It is a homicide investigation, and what would happen if it wasn't the child that pulled the trigger? That is what the Police are paid to find out. |

I had assumed there would be a homicide investogation but the radio didnt mention that, only the part about possible charges. |

Terrible tragedy and you can always count on the CJ for the most anti-gun spin they can put on it, never mind the facts. Why people still support that rag by buying their newspaper is beyond me.
* no registration in Indiana * who are they going to charge, the 3 year old? The owner is dead. Are they going to charge him posthumously to make a point, fine the family, some such nonsense as that? * guns and kids don't mix. Boy, there is a news flash. *Gun owners should also consider having trigger guard locks on guns and storing them in “quick access” safes, he said. They were at the house remodeling, staying there during the remodel?, maybe or even likely, but I cannot tell from the facts given that there is an indication that they were actually living there full time. What was he supposed to do, carry the gun in a safe and carry the safe around with him? He screwed up, it cost him his life. It sucks. But let's beat this to death and push the agenda for more gun laws. If only it were mandatory that the gun be stored in a safe. WHAT SAFE? A secured pistol is of little use to anyone, except the bad guy intent on doing one bodily harm. *Goodin said there is no specific statute in Indiana regarding gun storage or safety that specifically addresses such an incident. “We don’t have any specific firearm storage requirements.” And the next story will be more gun storage laws. Anyone want to bet? |
