I will be headed out with the rest of the orange army since I did not get my deer with the bow. Be safe and no climbing with a loaded gun.

M4M, I saw you hauling that critter onto the highway on Saturday.  I was waving at you but I think you were too focused on getting onto the road.

I don't even want to talk about my weekend.  Everything that could possibly go wrong - with the exception of my truck breaking down - has.

That's great! I was 27 years old before I deer hunted.

Congratulations to all.

Shot this doe this evening near my neighbor's woods after stalking her and two others through and open, fairly weedy field.  I crawled around 140yds after spotting them at 300 and shot this one through the heart at 160 with my .44mag.

Before anyone asks, I was very confident in making the shot and regularly shoot well beyond this on paper targets.  It's all about knowing your limits as well as your weapon's.

Deer #6 and #7 for me this season. I'm tagged out now, unless I hunt does in another county, or take a doe during muzzleloader season.

Congrats on tagging out.  I wish I could find that much time to spend in the woods.

No buck yet, but shot this doe last Friday afternoon using a Ruger 77/44 and Winchester White Box 240gr JSP ammo.  One shot to the boiler room on a sharp quartering away angle at approx 70 or 80 yds, she ran for probably about that far also then collapsed.  Dressed out at 110 lbs. Should make for some good chili!

Well I am finally home from my time off for hunting and Thanksgiving.  I shot this buck on Sunday morning of opening weekend.  I was out almost everyday the first week and he was definitely the biggest that I saw.  But I did see some really nice 8 pointers as well.  I'll be looking for them next year.

Oh and this is my second deer ever.  My first was last year, and he was barely smaller than this one.
I also got two does, but no pictures since they were both taken right before dark.
