Yeah some food options. Most will talk up the seafood, I'm sure it's great; but I'm not a big sea food eater. So here are some other options when you're not looking at seafood.
The wife and I like Crepes and Crazes, it's a small little mom-and-pop type shop on Coastal Highway just over the border in DE on the west side of the road. They specialize in wait for it - Crepes, and it's a great place for breakfast or light lunch. They also sell a bunch of knick-knack type stuff that my wife likes to browse as we wait for our food.
If you're looking for something different, then check out OC Kabob (in the micro mall kinda across the street from The Carousel Resort, again on Coastal Highway, north side of Ocean City just north of 112th St. It's a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food. We all liked the falafel; and I am a fan of their lamb gyro and rice pudding (very different from the stuff we are used to in the US). Again it's a small mom and pop place.
If you've got kids and they want pizza or other American type food (pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and pancakes served all day - with a larger breakfast menu in the morning). There are several locations in Ocean City (it's a local chain). It was a great place to go when our kids were younger.
We also found a decent (for East Coast) Tex-Mex place called Mother's Cantina. It's on Coastal Highway (seeing a pattern yet?
) between 28th and 29th st. Food's fresh and tasty, but parking is limited.
One other thing to note about the above food eateries, vegetarian options are available and I know several also have Vegan options (if your family has such dietary needs).
I'll say this Ocean City is a typical resort type town, lots of places to eat and bars for drinking, you should never go hungry or thirsty. Several of them are on the boardwalk or are in/outside of hotels with beach access. Plenty of candy shops for the sweet tooth (if you like chocolate I'd recommend Wockenfuss as they make their own).
For the kids there are mini golf places galore in a variety of themes, go-karts, and even a mini
amusement park on the south side side of the city (you can't miss the roller coasters)
ETA: Geez almost forgot. About an hour south of Salisbury (US 13) & Ocean City (US 113) is Wallops Island (take 175 east from US 13 South in the VA portion of the DelMarVa peninsula). There is a small air/space museum run by NASA about the facility and mission there on Rt 175 on the far side of the Flight Facility (you can't miss it). When you're done there (say an hour or so) you can drive onto Chincoteague Island. There is a national park there where there is hiking, an old lighthouse, and of course more wild ponies.
If you're really lucky there may be a launch while your down there, so you could check it out. Perhaps a supply mission to the ISS (or an explosion on the pad?), or maybe a scientific sounding rocket.
Wallops Island Events.
