This thread in GD made me wonder:

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1640497_Just_added_6_new_guns_to_my_collection_aka_wedding_gift_from_gramps___now_pic_heavy__.html

I used to hunt Canada geese with lead shot before it was banned.  The copper-plated shot in the thread was really high quality stuff!

What good is ammo like that now?  Its made to hunt ducks.  But you have to use steel shot or bismuth or something instead these days.  What would you do with it?  (I might have a box or two also someplace since cleaning out my parents house after my dad died in 2011).

You take it when you hunt on a boat. If DNR pulls up, it has a tragic boating accident.

If they are size #4 or smaller, they are still legal for turkeys: http://www.eregulations.com/maryland/hunting/firearm-regulations/

If they are larger than #4 and one believes a shotgun with birdshot is sufficient for home defense, well, there you go.
