017 Spring F-class Info

Hopefully we will be seeing warmer days before long and can start thinking about getting the 2017 F-class season going. Listed below are important dates for all members interested in shooting on Monday nights, or if members have friends that may be interested in joining us. If you have shot with us in past years, or if you have an NRA high power classification, these dates are not required, but help with new shooters is appreciated.
April 3rd  -  7 PM in the clubhouse. This will be a meeting for all new shooters interested in shooting on the KD range. This will not be a long dissertation on wind reading, but is geared around what the sport is about and expectations for equipment (rifles, scopes, calibers, etc…).
April 10th – 5 PM at the 100 yard line. All people interested in shooting at 300 yards or farther must attend this sight-in evening with the rifle/scope combination they plan on using. We will have targets stapled at the 100 yard line that have the ability to check if the rifle is capable of MOA accuracy, and if the scope has enough adjustment (and repeatability) to shoot out to 600 yards. Once we have verified that the combination is capable of these requirements, you will be able to shoot at 300 yards the next two (2) Monday evenings.
April 17th & 24th – 5 PM at the KD range 300 yard line. One of these Mondays is mandatory for new shooters that have a verified rifle/scope combination. We will have plenty of seasoned shooters there to help at the firing line and in the pits to pull targets.
If weather conditions will not allow us to shoot, makeup dates will be sent out by email.
The weekend of April 29th & 30th will be the first annual Dan Whalen Memorial Tournament. The 29th will be a 9 AM start in the clubhouse to discuss basic wind reading and expectations for scoring and pit duty. Hopefully we will have a lunch served at the clubhouse. The afternoon will be spent at the 600 yard line shooting a team match. The 30th (Sunday) will be a 3 X 20 individual match at 600 yards. Registration will start at 7:30 AM. Pits will close at 8:45 AM. Cost for both days is $30. If you will only be shooting the Sunday match the cost will be $25.
