Saw lots of deer moving out in West Central area opening weekend. Not as much the second weekend.

Got him about 15 min into shooting time on 11/7. Hadn't filled the bow tag yet, so hard to let one like this walk by.




Also got to pick up last year's bow kill from the taxidermist

Here's my forkhorn.  I couldn't see the full rack in the brush other than how tall it was.  I thought it was the 8 pointer that's been around.  I don't care too much as I've never found a good recipe for eating horns.  Pretty tall rack though.

I was a good 20 yards into the woods so not quite technically the yard.  I heard him coming but thought he may have run off when the train came through.  Lucky for me he just held tight until it passed.

On a side note, how do you like the red dot on a pistol?  I've got a fn tactical I've thought about putting one on but scared to drop then coin and end up not liking it.

I like it alot...  

Its not the first pistol I have a red dot on... I have a 44 mag with an EOTECH on it.. But that's a whole nother story..

If I recall your out of DLH....
