Quoted: I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday! View Quote Jack, THAT IS JUST FREAKY!! I cannot think of a better way to spend [red]MY[/red] birthday either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn, I was gonna pull the "It's my birthday, buy me some ammo." thing, but now it wont have as much impact. =( Ok, Dual ARF.COM BIRTHDAY SHOOT. Saturday, December 28, 2002.. Sometime around 6 pm. This is just informal. We'll get a bigger one going in January. |
Some friends and I are gonna go to AF on thursday. And I got some .223 ammo for Christmas! woo hoo!
OK, when do you guys figure to go to AF on thursday. I have the day off from work, but my wife works and I have to watch the little ones. If somone would give a aprox. time, I'd try to make it up there.

Well I found out the friend that suggested we go today has the day off and will probably be there in the early afternoon. However his brother and another friend might possibly go with me in the evening.
EDIT: sorry guys not going today, gotta go dumpster dive at someone's work, they are throwing away workbenches! I will probably go to AF to buy some of the british 30s they had but not to shoot. I'm still on for saturday. |

Sleepy - is Wealthwood open in the winter?
I'm going up to Mille Lacs next weekend with a couple of new toys to work over. Let me know if you're going to be up there - I'll buy you a beer at the Goose. Lurch |
Ok, 6pm at AF... Ammo cans loaded, weapons are in travel configuration and range bag loaded.
Ok for those that couldn't attend.
DA, Dahood, Jakezor, his friend Shaun, Mike my friend, and I accomplished the following: Turned on a couple SPPD patrolmen to the virtues of an AR-15 with modern optics. (They were playing with a raw, post ban AK) Corrupted a suburban couple. Let the range folks give the basics and then after a bit, turned them on to .380's and AR-15s. You shoulda seen the grin on their faces! She was shown what a quint of 12 ga slugs would do to a "hostage taker" (A picture target of a 5'5" woman holding a revolver to the head of a 6" man) 5 rounds in her face, A comment that was heard was "There ain't no such thing as a hostage". Her comment was "She's not very pretty any more". She was giggling when she said it. We comsumed copious ammounts of ammo and were tossed out. (We closed the place) |
Lurch Yep, Wealthwood is open in the winter. I went on Sunday afternoon. I made a "gong" target last fall and to my suprise, it's still standing at the 200 yard targets. I don't have access to a computer when I head "up north", so I didn't see your question 'till this morning.
I'll probably go again next weekend. I'll let you know when I go up again. Sleepy717 |
Sleepy, I've put a few rounds into that gong...but I think it needs to be moved back to 300 yards [;)]
I'll be up there this coming weekend (1/4,5) - hopefully I'll see you up there. |
Ok I'm not in Minn. yet but I just started a new job in St. Cloud so I will be needing some info on area shoots and other fun things, also if anyine within a 30 mile drive of St. Cloud knows of a house for sale, 3 br. in the 100 to 120 range, let me know.

It was definitely a fun time!
Everything went great!... One thing though, we gotta teach the newbies to be VERY resepctful of guns...I just cannot shake the image from my head of the "slow-motion" 90-degree turn that the chick did w/ the Glock...SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME. Other than that, I think that setting is awesome for getting others (non AR people) turned-onto the hobby! It was also VERY heartening when one of the cops gave me his carry gun to try out! It was one of those VERY lightweight S&W, .38 w/ 3" barrel...It is very cool when LEOs actually like guns! I'd have to say that that was one of the best birthdays I ever had =) |

Hi guys,
Checking in from the metro area. I don't have an AR yet.... Money isn't abundant for me right now. But I finally have one firearm to call my own--a winchester 1300 12ga. which I received for Christmas. Yes, I am deprived. |
Metro, actually St Paul.
WOuld be interested in shoots and get togethers. |
Rastus, can you tell me if there if a range in the area longer than 100 yds. My parents live between Pillager and Motley on the south side of the Crow Wing river. We shoot in Motley right now. The gun range is actually right behind the local school, almost in the middle of town. It goes to show not all towns are against gun owners. I am also looking for a place to shoot near Sauk Center. My in-laws have a motel there. Thanks for the help. eagle308us

Brooklyn Park It's about time law-abiding citizens are able to protect themselves from scum! Funny how the LIBERALS don't want the law-abiding citizens to be able to defend themselves against crime. What are they afraid of anyway? Everyone beware!!! Like the LIBERALS have said, once we have 90,000 concealed carry permits in the hands of Minnesotans, it will be PURE pandemonium! NOT! |

Near Rochester Email me thru AR15.com Rochester Folks, we should get together for some shootin! |
Yeah! Post it and I might be able to make it. My daughter and son-in-law live in Rochester. |
I live in Rochester also. a get together here would be sweet. Although finding a range that allows things other than paper targets and single shot groups of fire only, might be tough. I'm exploring some range possibilities that are more AR friendly. |

The facts...
Brad Maplewood, MN [email protected] Just got a Bushmaster 16" A3 as a present to myself for finishing a long basement remodeling project. It's going to replace my Ruger Mk. II .22 target pistol in the "home defense" role, and I am very much looking forward to shooting it when I'm not working on my RV6A homebuilt airplane. The airplane, incidentally, is the reason for the shorty - the 20" would just be too big to fit into the baggage area with enough room left over for...well...bags :-). |

Checking in!
Brad Plymouth Been shooting for years, but just got first AR (Bushy 20" A3). Probably won't be the last... |
