I have a bunch of tax return money burning a hole in my pocket.
saw the big gun show coming up in the cities and was thinking about going....however
the few northern shows I have been to in the last couple of years have been sadly lacking.
never been to this one, better chance of finding something? or should I just get the instant
gratification of ordering something from buds?

FWIW Im not really solid on what I am looking for. been lusting after a SSA copy of some sort, or
a opentop wheel gun....also another 1911 and maybe a pocket .380 autoloder.

THAT would be a hell of a long drive. would take a good chunk out of my gun budget just to get there and look around

It's pretty much the same as all the others.  It sucks.

My opinion is MWCA shows are jut $5 less to spend on guns or ammo at reputable dealers' shops. Often a waste of time.

Find me another $150 M39 at a shop and I'll swear allegiance to your opinion

I have not gone in years. It seemed like a waste of time as far as prices went.
Might be worth going this year just to get a laugh out of the M855 prices and be told how rare it is and how it is AP.

The big shows at the Coliseum usually have so many vendors that you're bound to find a deal or two. Couple years ago I got one of those beautiful, unissued "Irish contract" Lee Enfields with blade bayonet, soft case, and about 200 rounds of commercial .303 for like $650. Considering the price of the ammo usually near a buck a round these days I considered it a very good deal.

it's in the new school. Supposedly everything will be divided up between the four big rooms the school has. I'm going to go just so I can check out the new school, and to see if a guy can actually move around(unlike the old school).

It's a tax REFUND, not a return.  The return is your form 1040.

And they are only returning your own money you loaned them throughout the year...

Carry on.

Anybody know if carrying is legal at the show this weekend? I know, concealed is concealed. I just like to know before I show up.

I have a table there and thought it was a good show.  If I were buying I'd find deals for sure.

Pretty decent variety of stuff too.

I'll return tomorrow and bring more stuff to boot.

Yup. That is the way the most recent shows have been shaping up lately.

Although none of the local HTF members have contributed to my vacation fund, I do appreciate the folks online who have been so willing to part with their money and reduce my stockpile of SS109 pull downs. I have not turned that much profit on a shit purchase since Sandyhook. I dumped more safe queens than I dare admit.

And 22 lr will likely start to ease back to more reasonable prices here later this summer, or so I hope.

It never ceases to amaze me what folks will pay for really shitty ammo. I have not seen M855 group well enough to justify the price difference over m193. but, more power to ya if it works in your  barrel or you feel it gives you an edge.

The "blackwater" stuff I got a while back was decent but even that was marginal, no where close to hand loads or even q3131a.

I passed on a S&W 669 that was dirty for $299.  Kicked myself later when I got back to Alexandria.  I have been holding out for a 6906 or 6946.  Cabelas wants too much for their "refurbished" 6946.
