This kind of bullshit should be dealt with harshly. The big MNDOT snow plows are capable of moving more than just snow...

I don't know if it's still there,  but KARE 11 had a video up earlier this afternoon that showed these idiots matching up the on-ramp. By the time they got there, MPD and MSP already had 35 closed. Say what you want about the shitstain protesters, but the closed highway is ALL on the cops and state patrol. They could have prevented the highway closure.
Of course, I'm not blaming the cops. I'm sure they were taking (indirect) orders from comrade Dayton and that Minneapolis mayor bitch.

I'm all for "right to assemble" and "redress of grievances," but this was pathetic.

Let 'em protest. Just makes me despise them even more. Even my wife's liberal/commie coworkers in downtown Minneapolis were bitching about "why aren't they at work instead of making my life miserable?"

I honestly feel sorry for Minnesotans

So should I expect any shit like this or at all coming down from the range today for the Wild game tonight, how about the area I'm staying in, Kelley Inn off St Anthony not to far from the Excel?  Wasn't going to carry since I'll be enjoying a few beverages, maybe I'll at least bring it with but keep it in the room. Hopefully I shouldn't have to worry though.

True. I was more looking to see if things like this have been happening in these area's. Anyway, I'll just do as you said and expect anything.

By letting these pricks get away with this and not locking them up just opened the door for more major closures. Just like keeping the illegals here invites more of them. What ever happened to uphold the fucking law? Now it looks like enforcing what they feel like. Don't have a problem folks assembling at a park or local road but a federal/state highway? Wait until they bum rush the capital. Chicken shit Dayton will abandon it like he did the white house. This state if being run by the worst fucking wimps!

Nailed it. Perhaps due to the softcock response yesterday, these asswipes briefly shut down access to the airport today. Out of control.

Late response (but I live about 1/4 mile away from where you're staying, so if you need a QRF, let me know ), but that area should be pretty quiet.  The only protests we had around here were after the Ferguson announcement, and that didn't last long (and wouldn't interfere with the route you'll have).

The State Patrol did NOT want them on the Interstate (trust me). Once they were there, basically none of them were arrested simply because it was quicker to just let them walk back off again, and make sure they didn't get hit & cause a crash scene in the process. Trying to arrest 100+ angry, nutball protesters would've shut that thing down even longer.

Which does a great job of sending the message "don't do this again, and we mean it this time!"

ETA:  Maybe they should try a harshly worded letter next time.

To be fair, I strongly suspect the protesters would've PREFERRED that they had gotten arrested....that way they'd be out there longer, been more riled up, more opportunities to claim "police brutality", bigger story on the evening news, and more publicity for them. Don't give in; act like they don't exist and they may be more likely to go away.

It's aggravating in the extreme nonetheless, but still I see why things went the way they did.

I was in NY all this week and got back today. Glad as hell they weren't at the airport today.  I'm no fan of NY big shitty thinking but our LEOs could learn a thing or two from NYPD when it comes to handling protestors. All the fuckers blocking traffic in Times Square were not there long. The ones that laid down in the street got picked up, cuffed and hauled off most expeditiously. Me and some coworkers went down there to watch the idiots getting arrested. NYPD does not fuck around.

It's the difference between winning and losing.  By letting them "win" and walk all up and down the freeway, they actually lost.

I like the plane coming down dropping a shit load of water on them, or maybe water cannons to clear these tards. Last resort, let MnDot come in with the plows at 60 MPH to clear the lanes. But now that they got away with it, I expect more of this shit happening. What will our pussy government officials do if they decide to bum rush the capitol, hand them flowers?

Thanks....I wasn't there personally, but heard it all go down on the radio while it was happening. Basic impression I got was that Mpls PD announced they were headed for the interstate, a Trooper LT said no thanks, then they ended up there anyways. Guess Mpls PD leadership had a "hands off" policy....Troopers on scene were asking for permission to start arresting people but obviously that didn't happen.

What a lot of people probably didn't hear about was the protest that was planned on Saturday....intel made it seem like it could be a big one, and they called in support from EVERYWHERE (even rural MN) this time. Only a minuscule fraction of what was feared showed up, and caused about zero problems anyways...even if they had tried, I doubt they would've even gotten TO the interstate this time.

These situations just stink all around....you wanna drag em out of there because it's what they deserve, but then again it's also what they want. Either way I'm tentatively hopeful they won't be causing traffic jams on the highway again anytime soon (I hope I don't eat those words ).

Of course they do. Government is giving them a free ride. They just found something else to bitch about and jumped on that band wagon.
