Super quiet right now but the prediction is for Nov 1-25th if I remember correctly.  I am bowhunting now and am going to try some rattling to see if I can stir up some interest.  No rubs, scrapes in my AO presently.

Cool i appreciate it!!! I was hoping it wouldn't be going already, so I could do some effective rattling and grunting when i'm up there.

We are about 45 miles west of Brainerd, sounds like you will be hunting near my hometown. 241 is hunter's choice.

Worked on stands yesterday. Lots of rubs. Ran across one scrape line.

About a month ago I was up at our hunting lease just south of bemidji and there was a rub and a scrape on the trail to my stand. seemed quite early.....

I did find a huge scrape on Sunday and hung a couple of scent tags to generate interest.  Have not been back yet but hopefully as it gets colder I will see some more activity.  Warm weather, unlimited food and water-no reason for them to be moving at the moment.

I've been looking at the 10 day forecast on weather.com, damn its gonna be to warm. I miss when i was growing up the 2-3 in of tracking snow that gets fun stalking corn rows and the deer sticking out like a sore thumb!!!

A couple weeks ago I hunted Camp Ripley just SW of Brainerd

Very little sign compared to last year at the same time. Saw more deer than I expected however. The warmth may delay the rut a little bit.

I'll be hunting near Staples. Put up my blind a month ago and there were tons of tracks in the bean fields. Hopefully I get a shot at something.

i hunt south of motley, near Fish Trap Lake. Went up last weekend to get the camper ready and walk the trails for grouse. We didn't see any sign other than a couple bedding areas. The last forecast I saw, looks like snow on Sunday and Monday. I took the whole week off. Cant wait!

Im not convinced all of the bucks are in full rut yet.

Saturday, watched 7 does. Sunday, watched 5 does.

Monday morning right at sunrise, this 7 pointer was just strolling past my stand by about 75 yards. I assumed he was one of the previous does until I saw antlers in the scope, and immediately dropped the hammer before he could get behind the next trees. Hes about 175 pounds, neck isnt thick at all and barely any bark on his antlers.

The shot entered the front shoulder / neck area, exited the opposite shoulder. dropped him right where he stood.

The rack is 4 points on one side, 3 on the other, with one of those three being pretty damn small. maybe some would call it a six pointer but im saying seven

The bucks were on the move at our place. I shot a 7 pointer Saturday afternoon at 4. He was walking out in the open on the edge of a field with his nose in the air. He was nice sized, around 170 I'm sure. The next morning a bigger buck was walking the same line of scrapes with his nose in the air.

So far, where we hunt no one has gotten one since I left monday morning. sounds like they just arent moving that much in my area yet.  the butcher shop said it was a pretty weak opening weekend.

Some darned nice deer.

My 10 yo rolled over a 10 point last night.. 147 yards, one shot, dropped right in its tracks..

The 1st thing he said was "Is this a dream?"

As for location: Just  East of N  MN.

here is a couple days ago. took my 12 year old nephew up in the stand to get him a deer.
was only 150 yards out but thats a long ways for him. he was pretty excited.

he got into the trees about 30 yards an laid down. we were standing around it, doing the "WOOHOO!"
and "GOOD JOB!!"
I reached down and grabbed its ear...and the damn thing was playing dead
It jumped up and tried to run away with me wrestling with its head. I pulled its head back up into me, pulled
my 7" buck knife and stabbed it in the side of the throat, dropping it like a rock.

long story short, my nephew thinks I'm pretty damn awesome now

also got a gun cam video uploaded finally of one of my smaller bucks opening morining.
