I need a few set screws and odds and ends fasteners. I'd normally go to ACE for these, but the nearest one is in the Highlands. Home Depot is OK but not great.

Is there a good place to buy odds and ends nuts and bolts and set screws and such near Hikes Point?

Might want to try W.W. Grainger's in Bluegrass Industrial Park. I usually buy from them on-line though.

Will they take walk in business from some guy off the street? I thought they were more business to business.

...kinda––but if you call them and ask for "New Accounts," they will usually set you up with a "John Doe Co." account, like your name + Co. If you run a farm, like I did, they will set you up on an AG account. Have a vendor's license and it's a "non-tax" deal. But your first few orders with them are usually cash on the barrel-head. Phone in the order––they give you a PO. Go to the shipping dept. and they stamp your PO ticket and tell you to go to the office, where you pay for your goods and stamp your PO "PAID." Then, back to shipping for p/u. That's been my experience with them up here in OH.

Example: my local ACE hardware and big box stores wanted like $20+ for an a/c capacitor. Got it at Graingers for $4. it was worth the hassle for an old retiree like me.
