Evidently there has been new evidence about a failure of the Sig P320.  It clearly fails the drop test. You should be aware of this if you own one.

Of course they will fix it, but I am quite surprised they made it out the door like that.

This has been all over the gun blogs. Dallas Police Department removed it from their approved duty weapon list, a Stamford CT SRT officer is suing Sig and there have been numerous independent tests done showing the issue. On August, 4th, Sig released an official statement saying the "rumors" on social media were false and zero incidents had been reported. However, on August 8th they released a statement saying they would "upgrade" pistols sent back the them in the wake of recent events.

Is that pistol equipped with an aftermarket trigger or an OEM trigger?

Page 23 of the P320 manual states "If dropped, the pistol may fire. Keep the chamber empty unless actually firing!"

Seems like the Officer should be suing the holster company for failure to stay on his leg
Or the dept for making him walk around w/ a round in the chamber.

On a side note, does anyone know how/if this involves OSHA?
