So I'm looking at lower serial number C1228D from Olympic, I check there list and the C range of lowers are all preban but there is none that end in D while starting with C, they go C0001-C5000 Is it normal for random letter to be added? Thanks! As per a web sight I was just looking at- the D at the end stands for "duplicate" May have been a replacement mad by Olympic I don't know how to link the website from my phone- will try from laptop |

I had a DPMS with an S after a preban serial number and no one even flinched on the transfer. Turns out it was made of steel. |

If it ends in D and this was remade by Olympic, does it now take the date that it was remade. Wouldn't Olympic have to update their ATF records when manufacturing a new lower. So if so does it now become that date. How do you prove if its still preban with the D after the number. Just curious. Good luck

Thanks! Olympic arms use to replicate and replace cast lowers with forged lowers for a fee. Sent your cast in and they sent you a forged back with same serial # and a D. Same for a destroyed lower... so long as you Sent it in they replicated the serial # The ATF put a stop to it. |
