Not sure which Walmarts sell guns, but I picked up a Mossberg 930 "tactical" for $249 yesterday. It was marked $517 and only rang up 249 when scanned. I didn't have the clerk scan anything in the rifle rack, but he mentioned that it was deleted from their system so they weren't selling them anymore.

I ventured into GD and saw some people getting Colt 6920's for sub $500!!

Happy hunting.

Hum.  Wonder if Wally World is caving to anti-gun pressure, and getting out of the firearms business?  Or maybe only "scary guns"?

IF they're getting out, it's only in CT. Most states have no issues with guns and Walmart IS were you bjy shotguns, .22's and lever guns.

I would not be surprised WalMart is getting out of firearm retailing in CT. How profitable can it be? Only certain rural stores carry them here anyway. Distribution, inventory and trained over 21 employees are mostly likely not worth the cost. The store can use the space to sell more to the EBT crowd. Grape soda, Malta Goya, Cheetos and Digiorno pizzas have to be much more profitable than guns. Plus you do not have the liability of training, storage and paperwork.

You are a lucky boy!  I bought a Mossberg 930 "tactical" at the Lisbon Walmart a couple of years ago for close well over $400.  I put a mag extension, Magpul Mbus sites, and a Primary Arms reflex red dot on it.  I like it.

Probably a political decision, fueled by the lack of profits in an inventory bloated market.  Hate to see a mainstream store drop them just for the PR reasons for gun owners.  But here in the People's Republic of Konnecticut, it is a moot point.  Just as long as they keep selling cheap pistol ammo, I will be happy!

Does anyone here ****KNOW**** CT Walmarts (Lisbon etc) for sure are dumping all guns?  How do you know?

Windham Walmart still sells air rifles and black powder rifles.

A few weeks ago there was an ATF panic.  A few days later something else here in this forum turned out to be bullshit, etc, etc.......

Don't believe they are dumping ALL guns, just anything non-PC.  The threads in GD seem to indicate closeout prices on anything "black", with no re-order option.

Thanks, I think there is one more in south west CT as well.

Would you say it would be worth it to drive 45 min to see if anything else scary would be on sale there? I'd prefer not to take a field trip to Walmart in general, but definitely not if you got the last black firearm.

I wouldn't bother, it was more a PSA to any of the other ones around. The only other shotty on sale was a youth 20g, it was $99.

I looked at the rifles, but only saw a bunch of bolts and a lever action. I wouldn't imagine they'll stop selling 783's anytime soon.

I bought a shotgun at the Lisbon WallyWorld in 2013.  At the time my local gun store lost their FFL for a while (eventually got it back), and I didn't want to drive all the way to NGX.

Buying the gun was simple, but it was weird how they handled giving it to me.  They taped up the box, and the employee carried it outside and handed it to me outside the store.

I bought a Mosin from Cabelas. They walked me to the door and then handed us the gun. There were zip ties on it plus they walked us to the door.

Doggedly sticking to company policy, no matter how idiotic it is.  Can't blame the rank and file employees, just following the rules of their employment set up by the brainless suits and lawyers.  Wouldn't want to shock a mom buying sneakers by walking by with a rifle in a sporting goods store!

It is a totally logical policy.  Because there is absolutely nothing stopping you loading up the rifle, and coming back in the store if you had a mind to do something evil!

Your absolutely right.
In each instance, I could tell how stupid the counter kids felt, carrying a gun, in a box, for a grown man with a loaded pistol.

A couple of years ago I was looking for a holster for a .380 at Cabela's.  They checked the gun when I came into the store, handed it to someone who I had to follow while the person held the gun up at about his head level pointing at the ceiling, monitored every fucking move I made, and then escorted me out the same way.  It was stupid.  My loaded/chambered .45 was on my hip the whole time (concealed, but not hidden).

I've bought some optics from Wal Mart in the past week for over 50% off. Keep in mind it's not just guns, it's anything "tactical", the prices aren't often marked down either you need to get them scanned. If anyone wants a Surefire Shotgun forend, Stratford Wal Mart has one and it's one sale.

Gd has a thread on what has shown to be clearanced.

I visited Torrington today.  I bought the last clearance 10/22 for 124.  They have no more of the most berg 930.  They have more gun models the what is displayed.  Store manager confirmed only Torrington and Lisbon sell guns.

Good luck

The plan was to head to lisbon after torrington.  I didn't check on much of anything else.  They had problems with the computer when I was filling out the automated 4473.  That soaked up alot our time and we decided not to visit lisbon.  So we hit up all the walmarts heading back towards hartford looking for nikon scopes and fusion ammo.  Bingo on those items.

I asked about the Ruger America rifles.  The guy said there were plenty of those in stock.  All I really know for sure is there are no more Mossberg 930s and stainless 10/22.

I went to Torrington last Friday? maybe and they still had a 3030 youth lever for under $200 and a Remington semi shotgun for around $400 reg price was $8xx

Also, the posted price doesn't reflect the actual  price.  The clerk in torrington had to scan the 10/22s to find the clearance one.

I was up in NH and VT yesterday for work, and stopped by 3 Walmart stores. None of them had these discounts. I had all the items scanned and one lady even went through the scanner looking for discounts that weren't applied to the tags yet, nothing. Very disappointing

I wonder what the deal is, seems only some states/stores are discounting even though the new stance on "tactical" items was announced nation wide.
