Think its a win win.  I had two SR25s in nearly the same set up so still have one and got my first 1911.  The bushing-less bull barrel, and the fact that Chris Kyle carried one for a time, is pretty cool.

I call them sleepers when they aren't advertised well or labeled preban.

The only ban stater people that would have stumbled onto that listing are folks that searched auction descriptions for PWA.

Gonna be a lot less fighting over that when it goes off.

if you are worried I can buy it and then transfer it to you, would be $1550 though.

Brass City Munitions will transfer guns, $20.  located near rockstars in Wolcott.

Since Bushmasters records are gone there is no way to verify serial numbers. I heard that some dealers wont transfer bushmasters because of the inability to verify.

Ahhh. Got it. Haven't run into that. Same is now true of DPMS, Sendra, PWA, and Eagle Arms. If that was the standard we'd be down to Colt, Essential Arms and Olympic. And that's assuming an archive of the Oly website is sufficient since they are out too.

Delta will transfer it. $20.

What's around the going rate for a used preban beta mag?

Preban magazines are only good in MA. In CT you are stuck with buying reduced, 10 round, capacity magazines.

Try the MA HTF. Someone there might be able to help.

I don't think they command a premium - only one state requires preban- MA

Best bet would be to put on gbroker and start at the going price of a new beta.

There are a bunch of cast J-15-2 lowers out there that are all post ban but look similar to J-15 lowers. I've seen them with the "-2" ground flat and refinished  in order to pass it off as preban. The selector markings are different so they are pretty easy to spot.

Makes sense. Mine is in the OG grey but that is good to know to look out for.

On a serious note, it's easy to trip and fall and get charged with defacing a serial # . Seriously, those raised cast engravings can get damaged easily. Some non critical parts of mine have scratches to the white.

Realistically you can expect to get $1200 out of it. The ones guys are asking $1500 for are for sale for a long time.

Where in NY are you?

I've had it at my FFL since the safe act.  I wanted to keep it just in case I moved but that isn't happening so it's been sitting there.  Haven't asked him to put it on consignment yet or advertise it on line.

I know quite a few LEOs were interested due to the set up and condition.  It's in excellent shape, fired very little.

As far as added value, no. But if you're trying to sell one I'm sure someone here would appreciate it at normal market value. There are just way too many out there and no one really cares. If someone did want to do something like thread the barrel, they're not hard to find.

I think they can go for a bit more to some people because they have a metal trigger housing or group compared to the newer plastic ones.

They basically hold value and are priced as new ones because Ruger  doesn't sell stripped 10/22 receivers. A used stripped receiver fetches around $100-120. Aftermarket receivers get up to a few hundred bucks.

ETA: For context in this conversation, though, it being a PB makes no difference.
