I think that is a common saying, the saying here is "shut up and buy everything!"

Pre Ban guns have a little more value here in CT because of our BS laws. Anyway a G17 would bring you $350-400 if clean.

Sounds good thanks

I have had it so long it will be hard to part with it, I got it in 2000 and from the serial(XV09*) it was made in 91 and is Gen2.

Its been my carry gun for a long time.

Somebody needs to buy this but be aware there is something wrong with the safety detent. Also this guy had two other lowers for sale and is demanding signed copies of the FFL. Email and checking the ATF's database is not good enough for this guy. The guy has only posted 15 times in 7 years and has a feedback of 2. I was not comfortable with him the last time so I passed.

Yes- Preban sr25 are collectible and bring in a premium. I think the quick change barrel adds value to the deal

They stared at $1500 I believe, then rose up as they sold em. $2500 was the approximate going rate 1yr ago.... probably about the same today for matched stripped upper and lower

They took a while to sell ... several dealers in Ct had them as well.

EDIT: It most likely came from Colt like that. I have a Sporter II I bought new in 1985 and it looks just like that. I still have it unmolested with original box and trinkets.

Well. I have two already. Lol

And maybe no one has any mags registered . 5 round mags are expensive.  Of course I  guess you can pin some. They're cheap.

HK91 prices are totally condition dependent but on first glance that's a solid rifle and price.

I doubt mags would stop anyone from buying a rifle they want, but good points and all true. I think your spot on about the condition dependency as well, and that one looks mostly great except for the heavy marking around the ejection port. Not uncommon to see that on HK91's, but that could push somebody into a flawless gun @ around $2,600. They do pop up often enough and there are others to be had.

Had an HK 91 back in the 80's.  As I remember, it pointed like a chair, and was less then pleasant in the recoil department.  Sold it.

I definitely agree with the recoil issue, but accuracy is good IMO, it's a battle rifle not a bolt gun. I haven't experienced anything I'd complain about with them in that department.

Oh, it shot well enough, even with the horrible trigger, and "interesting" sights.  Everyone is free to like what they like, I just found the ergo's off.  Like I said, it pointed like I was holding a kitchen chair out in front of me.  Another issue that turned me off was what it did to brass.  I was big into reloading at the time, and there was no real source of cheap 308 brass.  It would cave in the side of the cases (as it chipped the paint off the side of the receiver), and scar them heavily with the fluted chamber.  I put on a case buffer.  It helped, but then it would send the brass all over the place when it bounced off the rubber buffer.  The scarring was more cosmetic then anything else, it was just one more thing in my mind to make me get rid of it.

I sold the HK, and bought a SAR-48 paratrooper, and BM62.  Both are far better shooters then the HK, and I don't miss it.

Yeah you definitely nailed with the brass and trigger comments. Now I'm starting to wonder why I like them so much?

It's funny, I literally had this same conversation with a member here a day ago. He likes his FAL better too.
