I have a Sporter II I bought new in 1985 and it looks just like that. I still have it unmolested with original box and trinkets. |

Well. I have two already. Lol
And maybe no one has any mags registered . 5 round mags are expensive. Of course I guess you can pin some. They're cheap. HK91 prices are totally condition dependent but on first glance that's a solid rifle and price. |

Not uncommon to see that on HK91's, but that could push somebody into a flawless gun @ around $2,600. They do pop up often enough and there are others to be had. Had an HK 91 back in the 80's. As I remember, it pointed like a chair, and was less then pleasant in the recoil department. Sold it.

I definitely agree with the recoil issue, but accuracy is good IMO, it's a battle rifle not a bolt gun. I haven't experienced anything I'd complain about with them in that department.

I was big into reloading at the time, and there was no real source of cheap 308 brass. It would cave in the side of the cases (as it chipped the paint off the side of the receiver), and scar them heavily with the fluted chamber. I put on a case buffer. It helped, but then it would send the brass all over the place when it bounced off the rubber buffer. The scarring was more cosmetic then anything else, it was just one more thing in my mind to make me get rid of it. I sold the HK, and bought a SAR-48 paratrooper, and BM62. Both are far better shooters then the HK, and I don't miss it. View Quote It's funny, I literally had this same conversation with a member here a day ago. He likes his FAL better too. |
