I do miss the Clam Chowder though. I mostly like salt water fish. Give me a choice between fish or steak and steak wins every time! |

Not me. Strand me on a deserted tropical island and I'll be a fat slug when the pick me up because I'll have eaten anything that grows or lives in the ocean or the shore. I could eat fish 4 days a week, easy, and sometimes do. Don't know why. My daughter, otoh, was in love with lobster. She dated a rich fella whose parents had a home a couple of doors over from the Bush family in Maine. They would eat at Barnacle Billy's regularly and he would order her giant lobsters every time. The last time, however, she said her hands began to itch like crazy and it turns out that she had developed an extremely severe allergy to anything in a shell that day. She even has to carry an epi pen at all times. Recently her doc allowed her to have Cod so it's not all fish but just lobster or shrimp. She's working on clams next and can't wait. Me? I make a meal out of 2 doz oysters on a 1/2 shell and an ice cold very dry martini. Mmmm.

My MIL lives in Kennebunkport, and is friends with the owners. Voted best lobster in Maine. My wife has an allergy to lobsters, if she touches them, her hands break out in a rash. Surprisingly, she can still eat them, which means I have to clean all her lobsters first. One of the guys I work with claims to be allergic to seafood. Since I'm the cook at the fire house, I've threatened to poison him and find out. Mike |

Pork, shrimp and clams for me tonight. Had dinner at a Portuguese place last night and got inspired. Also if anyone likes Mofongo, this place in Manchester called Suso Basket (sp?) has a decent one, best I've had outside of Puerto Rico. Rest of menu was hit or miss, but it is cheap and BYOB.
P.S. Bludgeonmonkey, what are you a gay fish or sumthin'? |
