Ya know, we're making our plans to move to Maine and spend a lot of time up there and checking stuff out on the 'net.  So, I wandered over to Maine's "hometown" forum.  I find three posts from October and the rest drift away to September and then way back.   We were looking to go someplace that was quiet and a bit off-the-grid and I guess this proves that Maine is really a quiet place to live!  Compare this forum activity to Maine.  It ain't even close!

Don't know if that means anything at all but it sure is quite a difference from this forum!

CTHTF is nearly the most active HTF.

CTHTF is best HTF.

Perhaps there is another more active Maine gun forum elsewhere.

MA people use Northeast Shooters much more than the MA forum here.

Maybe they're all out lost in the woods.

Meguntalk.com was tried, but not much traffic there now.

Talking to my good friend that lives in Maine, just not sure forums are Maine's cup of tea.

Hear, hear.

Although, the CTHTF is growing on me.

I would like to believe that most people in Maine are out living life instead of arguing about it on the internet. I could  be wrong, but probably not.

My aunt, uncle, and cousins moved to Maine a few years ago. Up there a forum is the Sunday swap meet at the congregation, or coffee at the local diner....

I do appreciate the offer, Matt.  Rest assured I will continue here after we've gone.  I've been spending a lot of time up in Maine over the past few years and my wife has even found that Maine has grown on her as well.  We've done everything there.  Life there is what CT rural life was like 30 years ago before all the legal crap. Ya know what it feels like to breath free air?  It's really wonderful.  It really is.   I was born and bred here in CT.   I love the history and the communities here.  I've done my part to protect and preserve it, too, maybe even more than my part that most people would not know but I now feel it's a lost cause.

Look at the activity this forum gets.  It's red hot and thank God for that, too.  But there's something to be said for a more laid back forum where you would rather play checkers over a barrel and have a hot coffee in you hand or talk reloading ballistics than be typing on a laptop about the lastest political mess.  Then there's the fact that my next house will allow me to shoot off the back porch no matter what the weather.  That, my friends, is living.

Anyway, I just thought it quite interesting how we've got so much traffic where as Maine had so little traffic at all.   Gosh how I wish it were the same as CT after all!
