Side question: what local FFLs have the best deal on pre bans in-store?

You can walk in and get a Colt Sporter in really good condition for like $2000 give or take a few $100, which is not that far off of market price. Not "good" deals, but "best" deals. Not many dealers are even touching pre-bans even though it is common knowledge they are exempt. But you should just get one out of state and have it transferred into Delta. |

Yeah but buying one out of state and having it shipped in doesn't lend itself well to an impulse buy

View Quote I have been watching that one too. He keeps dropping the price. I have seen it one Armslist too. When I bought my Sporter II back in the 80s this was the gun I really wanted but could not spring for the extra money at the time. I still have 4 lowers to build and 4 308 lowers to build. Trying to keep my money for parts. I did spend some buying a MAK90 and an NHM91. |

It's going to be pretty interesting to see that now that there are at least a few thousand "new" formerly named pre-bans in the state. At least 100-200 of them have changed hands here. Enough 7.62x39 norincos have come back in to film an epic North Korean propaganda film. |

There are enough of the others to go around until then. |

I'm not in the market for a pre-ban... just interested in this. Is the sear block the piece to the right of the hammer in this photo? If so, what does it do? (and don't tell me "it blocks the sear" in some retard voice) Why can it not be removed? http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x354/kkesler123/DSCF92931024x768_zpsf7bb561d.jpg View Quote Searblock prevents an auto connector type device from being used- also prevents drop in auto sear from being used. Sear block can be removed- mill it so it will look nice, dremel if you just don't give a fuck! |

Does anyone else feel a bit uneasy buying a preban that is banned by name in the AWB bill?------------------ Nope I could have sworn that the sear block overlapped into the area of the auto-sear, and a F/A bolt carrier would bottom out on it. Well, learn something new every day! Going by the current interpretation of the pre-ban exemption, EVERY SINGLE ONE of the firearms I registered back in 1994 is now transferable in CT! Man, I can't see the Democrats in Hartford letting this stand once the new session opens. |

A full auto bolt carrier won't work on a gun equipped with a sear block, but a semi auto carrier will.

Anyone know who HDroadking is? He picked up both of the colts I linked to! Lol
Eta: he has been a member since 13 but his first post was claiming those colts so I'm assuming he is just a lurker but anyways FDM and good buy! |

[#36]
Wouldn't a Colt sear block also limit your options for aftermarket triggers?
|
|
[#37]
Those are excellent prices on both rifles. I sold my pre-ban (EA lower with an ORIGNIAL Colt SP1 upper) for $950 18 months ago. Seems that the prices being asked have plateaued. I can see others asking stupid money of those trapped in the preban states.

Arms X in Naugatuck has at least a dozen pre bans. Maybe more. Prices start around $1700 if I recall. This was last week.
