puppybowl>superbowl
fuck sports. besides shooting sports, hunting, and PBR over talked about, people dwell on athletes lives way too much. and to the people that talk ALL day about sports, get a fucking life. hollering and screaming at their tv's for them to catch, run faster, "OH MY GOD MY TEAM WON!" its not your fucking team, your a fucking loser, and again, get a life. espeicially the sport channels on the radio. talking about the same shit for hours, everyday. who gives a shit about brady, or who ever. that being said, i watch the last few minutes. i do like the commercials too.... 
edit: since its my birthday, im eating crab cakes, twice baked potatoes, and drinking shocktop 
cant forget the funfetti cake, and carvel icecream cake

I am with you man. I can't get the whole sports obsession and wasting a weekend sitting around watching some game. i like auto racing. Pretty much anything but even that I do not watch. Can see wasting the time. 24 hours of LeMans I will sort of 1/2 watch. Have it playing when I am sitting down for the night. I really wonder about a guy who gets that excited about some team or some athlete. 
I enjoy baseball and a live game is fun. I don't even watch the World Series when the team I like is in it. I never go to the Super Bowl parties I get invited to. I went a few times years ago. I wanted to hang myself. I just sit there while these guys scream and yell. The whole wearing a jersey thing is weird too. I made eggplant parmesan with my homemade gravy on it. It was excellent. My wife baked fresh bread. My parents came over and Dad and I were talking about the whole silliness that is the Super Bowl. He hates it too. |

My good friend is like me. Not much of a fan. But he does watch the games on weekends. He put a TV in his garage and his workshop. This way he sort of watches while he works.
My good friend from high school is the opposite. He sits around all weekend watching games. When you ask hm to do something he makes excuses, "the game is on" or "we are playing that time". |

Grabbed the handle of a pan that was in the oven a 375 for about 45 min. So I'm drinking the rest of the Chardonnay I was cooking with and vodka. And maybe beer when I finish these.

Evan Williams Single Barrel casked in 2005 and bottled 7/11 2014, cask number 901. Was mentioned in GD as an incredible buy for your buck...best whisky I've ever had. Ever. By far. Mind you the best I've had is Buffalo Trace, Makers, Knob, Bulliet tier stuff, but this is remarkable. Extremely smooth, great flavor profile. I've never drank regular Evan Williams which is probably a good thing, but whatever distiller is responsible for this iteration did an excellent job.

Went to World of Beer in Blue Back Square tonight. 50 on tap, 525 (yes 525) in bottles.
Plus; Good fresh beer, nice interior, very comfortable, attentive staff, good food (ginormous fresh pretzel not to be missed) Cons: Unfortunate saturation of West Hartford douchebags. VERY and I mean VERY expensive. SEVEN dollar pint of Guinness. Oh hell no. Four people tonight with food and beer (admittedly, a lot of both) was $380 before tip. Can't see going back with my $3 beer for life deal at McLaddens but you might want to give it one try. |
