For the ultimate burger, bar none, if anybody goes to NYC, go to the Old Homestead Steak House and have their 20oz Kobe burger. Recently fell in love with the burgers at Wooden Tap in Manchester/Vernon. Good stuff. Burgers are my bread and butter. Ultimate comfort food. Love me some burgers. Burgers #1 Wooden tap ...really? I just have never been a fan. If you want some GREAT pizza go to Paul's on rt83 and the bottom of Loveland hill, all of their pizza/pasta dishes are amazing. I have been eating there since I was a kid and my parents use to eat there before that (since they were teenagers) . Only been twice and the burgers were both great. Pizza is my next favorite (tied with pasta). We'll pick some up this weekend! DaVinces on 83 in Ellington is good, too. I grew up on Annes (Raffia Road Plaza) in Enfield, Greek pizza. Used to be soooooooooooo good but they changed ownership (and the recipe) a few years back. The pizza gods have been most generous. Already reserved for my daughter's birthday. Well, actually for me. Her birthday is a convenient excuse. http://www.zuppardisapizza.com/pizza-truck/ As for burgers, there are many good ones but it's one of the few things I really think I can make great at home. Especially with Pat LaFrieda ground beef. Must admit though that the kobe burger at The Capital Grille and the Kobe 2.0 at Max Burger are awesome. Also, the build you own at McLaddens is damn good but don't order drunk. Nearly everything is optional and you can build a nearly $50 burger if you're hammered and not paying attention. Mcladdens? Where is that? I'm a big fan of Kobe. But prefer it in cubes. It looses it's fat I an oily hurry if you go to small. But that might only be from a few small samples of ground that I've had.
