I like straight/no slant stubys personally. Something just doesn't look right to me when they're canted.

Have you seen any Pappy's yet. This is the time of year it hits the shelves for at least 10 minutes. I usually get a call every time it comes in, but not yet this year.

No Mike, not yet.  And you're right, tis the season.  I have a few places where I left notes but the one place in West Hartford that I know gets some just calls a few special snowflakes and they split the whole order.  And no, I am not one of them.  If I get a hit, I'll IM/email you.

BTW, the 15 year old is now supposedly the one to get according to reviews.  I'm  not that picky.

The past couple of years they have produced 2000 bottles of the 20 yr and only 700 bottles of the 15 yr. the 20 is more popular, so the produce more.  Maybe that's the reason for the popularity of the 15 going up. I have a couple bottles tucked away that I savor. Have to make it last.

Looks good man, and yea it's no joke removing those parts haha.  But when it's done...you then have a legitimate AK!

eTA:  there are plenty of guys who prefer the Chinese AK's with no muzzle device.  The original intent was for them not to have a brake.  The AKM has the slant brake...the type 56 and original design of the AK had no threads.  Although some type 56's were threaded, they had a thread cap type of muzzle device...not the slant brake.

IMO these need the mzzle break, it was a bit more of a project then I thought it would be. Getting the proper jigs would ha e made things a lot easier

ETA:

Got the barrel threaded! I wish the FSB was that easy!

It's actually worse than you think.

CF is a one maker band.  His order book is closed and backlog on existing orders is 18-24 months.  Because of that, instead of the $775 retail price, they are going for $1200 to $1500 if you can find one.

You know, once upon a time I figured that since you guys are paying me so well, I should probably show my generosity by buying you all beers and cigars.  But then I realized that I would only be spending more of YOUR tax dollars.  I didn't think that would be proper so I decided against it.
