Fried calamari with red cherry peppers and a spicy aioli.  Then a meat, cheese and fruit platter.  It was pretty awesome.

Makes me wish I had taken the time to go over to Oxford and see the old girls!

Had one of the bombers fly over the house an hour or so ago.  Nothing like that sound! Makes you really wonder what a formation of hundreds going over must have been like.  Must have sounded like pure, unadulterated power!

The passage of time has all but earased the generation of young men who flew them.  It also has wiped away the huge fleets of these aircraft that helped save the world.  The few examples we have left, are almost too precious to allow to fly anymore. Enjoy them, and honor the men who flew them while you can!

Good to get it away from the house. Besides the dropsies, it stop critters from gaining attic access.

When I bought my house in 1984, it was all electric.  Immediately installed a wood stove, and spent the next 20+ years dealing with wood.

When I started, I was in the excavation business, and got all my wood for free.  I changed careers, and had to start paying for wood. But, still had the work of stacking, hauling, and cleaning out the stove. Plus paying for wood canceled out any savings.

Put in a propane furnace, and never looked back.

There is nothing better then wood heat, but just pushing a button on the wall to warm up comes in a close second!
