Is that the excavator in question working in the back of the pic you posted? Any damage??

The one that fell in said CAT. The one in the background looks to be a Deere. Plus, you've already got OSHA on your ass, best to send it back to be inspected

Possibility the "sewer" line could've been for utilities?

I have a  lot of memories of that place. I worked for that group for years. I just talked to the Big guy, he heard about the incident. He chuckled a little. Lol.

I’ve been using a wusthof pro chefs knife for a while now but the edge breaks down way too fast, so I’m trying out a zelite infinity Japanese chefs knife. Like most new knives they come out of the box insane sharp.  I did a bunch of chopping without touching the edge on steel and very happy so far . Looks to hold up well.

Just use a towel or apron to wipe your knife after you take a couple passes on steel. Not your boxers

I used to use Wusthof still, have a bunch for odd shapes, but went Japanese for my work horse and never looked back. The edge geometry and high carbon stand up so much better to abuse. My German knives would need to be tuned durring cooking and sharpened often. My Japanese knives stay sharp the whole time, and even when the edge does begin to dull, they still cut well.

The original classic German steel was good but very hard to resharpen- japanese knives are best for me- the hold edge longer and re sharpen much quicker

Happy Father’s Day to me,  happy Father’s Day to me, happy Father’s Day dear John......Happy Father’s Day to me.

PGW Coyote in 6.5 CM with a stainless steel cerakote finish.  It was a fantastic deal from a great guy on Snipershide.  He threw in all the swag and three extra 10rd mags ($200 each!).  Everything else comes with the kit.  The actual Canadian Army kit (.308) also comes with a laser, titanium suppressor and S & B scope.  Unfortunately, those were not in there.

Approximately 16 lbs.

It has an AR-15 grip stud so I can use just about anything out there.  I didn’t think the standard one would be comfortable but it is.  There’s a couple others I want to try.

How a big brake upgrade and axle replacement ends for the day.

I'm reliving last fall's ball joint fail all over again.  Ball joint frozen to control arm.  Ball joint shot.   This time, there is a missing wheel bearing bolt.  Not broken, missing.  Machine shop, here I come.

What started this was a massive tire falling off vibration at highway speed and pulsing brake pedal while stopping.  Previous owner took the time to put in new guide pins and bolts, but no grease.  The pins are frozen.  The caliper was dragging on the rotor.  You can see the high spots on the rotor.  They also cheaped out on pads, who uses semi metallic pads anymore?  It looks like the rotors would wear out before the pads.

last year I went a bit nuts stalking the EE and ended up with 3 nice used ones. Good prices can be had. My favorite was an M4s I got for $450. Its by far my favorite. Big, but awesome. 7 year battery life on a single lithium AA, supposedly.

If you have an astigmatism it may not work for you. Try one out to make sure before you drop the cash.

The Vortex Strikefires are a very good optics. I had a couple Aimpoint Pros and a couple Vortex Strikefires(version I) on guns. They worked identical and I sold the Aimpoints because they cost more than twice as much as the Strikefires. There is a version II Strikefire out now. Vortex has a lifetime warranty. Battery life was excellent.

I have an astigmatism and if I have it turned down enough it's fine, but on brighter setting it gets a little wonky. That said I do love the thing. I have a PRO and a CompM2/M68. I also have a Vortex Strike Eagle that's best of both worlds.

Zeag, let me know if you want to try any of them out. You can borrow them too as long as you don't adjust them
