Awesome! You three or four years out now?
I guess that all depends . The last 2 winters haven't been super cold. If stayed below 35 for more then a few days I'd run 24/7. The location of my stove makes it almost not have to work to keep the house above 72. Only burned 2.5 cord last year

I'll probably replace the stock & broken pad. The stock was split in a few places and poorly repaired decades ago and the grip area around the frame appears to be painted epoxy.

That far exceeds any damaged engine parts I have.  I guess I've been lucky with cracked pistons, tulipped valves,  holes in valves, turbo center section blowing into a few pieces and a turbo housing cracked nearly all the way through.

Exploding turbo was an interesting experience.  My turbo blew as I hit 20lbs of boost as I entered the highway heading home from LVD.  With all the noise and smoke, I was certain I blew the motor.  During tear down, I found the tulipped valve.  As I put the head on the table, my neighbor asked if the turbo is suppose to do that.

I've pumped these gloves in here a few times. I have no affiliation with them but I am a diehard supporter of these guys and I know we have a lot of good hard working guys in here. I won't even bother buying gloves anywhere else. These guys are to gloves what Chippewa or Redwing are to boots, except priced better.

They're running a Father's Day sale, some 25% off. They are already reasonably priced for the quality you get, anytime they run a sale it's worth looking at.

If you're going to order some, look at their sizing tool on the site. They run exactly as they state.

Flag day was a couple days ago. If you say you got that for flag day you can still get yourself something else for Father's Day.

Get yourself a Gadsden flag for Father's Day to fly below that one Jeff!

Bikerman, that crooked house is AWESOME, Leon yours is coming out great too!  I can't wait to build one in the future as well!

Andrapos, I recreated a photo of my grandfather last year, those are always fun projects.   The first piece of the puzzle came out great though, nice job!
I'll try to post the two photos later.

Finally got permission this year to fly a flag on our house. Mrs. Edgephoto gave me the thumbs up finally. She really likes it because she puts it our every morning and if I get home after dark or go overnight she brings it in.

Your flag looks just like the one I picked. Amazon.

Starting on Sunday Aldi has 3'x5' US Flag sets on sale for $6.99. I will grab one just to have.

Bending, I might just have too. Since I didn't buy myself a fathers day gift yet.

Tbr and edge, I bought this at a small flag shop in Avon. I'm spent way more than the amazon one. But, I knew that going in there. And it's all American made.

My flag is also American made. Annin Flag Makers based in NJ. I refuse to buy a foreign made American flag. That just seems wrong.

I hate stores so if I can buy it online and have it delivered to my house I am all in.

If the Aldi flags are some Chinese junk I am not buying but won't know until they have them in the store.

Does that come with a free coffin or coupon for cremation?

In the 90s my buddy and I were thinking of ultralight aircraft but we never did get into it. That is about as crazy as I would go.

You have a brass set of balls to strap a propeller on your back and hook up to a half a parachute and "fly" around. Make some videos as it looks cool but no way I am nuts enough to try it.

I'd shit my pants with that thing even near me. Big balls
Link Posted: 6/18/2017 3:21:18 PM EDT
[Last Edit: hihobrian] [#35]
It's pretty safe actually. You are hooked to an inflated parachute 100% of the time. And it only has 1 job. It's to not collapse. If you get a good one you will be fine. The motor provides the thrust to maintain level flight and climb in altitude. If it dies you just float down to the ground. Hopefully not over water...

I just finished my third and final heat cycle of the motor. It's ready to fly as soon as my wing arrives.

Check the vid posted above. You take off from the ground. Any suitable field then fly around and do flips and stuff. It's got a motor so no jumping off cliffs required. You can fly as high as 15000ft. Above that the air gets cold and thin. Typically I'll be at 2000 or lower in most of CT due to airspace restrictions from airports.

left hand and right hand parachute control, feet for landing... I'm missing how you control the throttle? 5th point of contact? squeeze harder for more power and relax for less??

There is an actual throttle for the engine. It is also in your hand. Restrained with an elasic strap.

On my unit it's on the left side and my reserve chute is mounted on a right side pocket. Attachment Attached File
