Low VOC paint has been used for years. Any old guys here? Remember the GM, Ford and Chryslers of the 80s and 90s with the paint peeling of in sheets? That was generation 1 water based paint.

Regardless the orange peel is ubiquitous and disgusting. I recently saw a BMW i8 that looked worse than the Prius parked next to it.

Almost all the paint on the market is shit and orange peels since the regulations changed mid 2000s . VOCs have their place.

STI? I have been in a few modded WRX's that were blisteringly fast. Its amazing what you can get out of those engines with very little work.

The STI still has the old 2.5 with all its problems and weakness. Headgaskets for days. Mine has the new 2.0 direct injected twin scroll turbo powerplant. Sucks this state doesn't have E85. The new powerplant makes monster power on it very safely with a tune and very minimal supporting work.

Looks good!  I heard those lock up pretty good, feel sturdy?
Link Posted: 3/7/2017 8:11:47 PM EDT
[#10]
The lock up is great when it is closed (in firing position). When it is open (folded) there is no lock holding it in the fully folded position. There is a pressure ball and a notch (like the ball that holds a socket on the wrench) but its pretty weak. You can loosen or tighten the hinge screw to adjust the tension for opening/closing and make it harder to swing but Id like to see if hold more firmly in the fully folded position. I just put it on so Im gonna go read up a little bit.

It is heavier than I was expecting, thats about all the bad I have to say about it so far.

Everything Ive read says you can get one round off in an emergency but you'll probably break it.

There is a locking mechanism that keeps the BCG in place, but you might break something holding that mechanism in place.

Greg at JOJOs made me a G10 bolster for my Sebenza 25 to match the grips on my carry pistol.  Came out perfect.  The originals were CF and were slick.  He previously did a set for the Nealy Aikuchi tanto.

Conn,
That light rail on the 1911.
Is that a bolt on? Who made it?
I would like to buy, or maybe make one, for my preban p226.

The rail is made by Caspian.  It is pinned and welded.  When Jojos made the Colt for me, their rail gun was not yet available so I added the rail.  Only issue is it sits low and needed a custom holster.  Novak makes one that sits tighter and is closer to a factory frame rail.

Cajun Gun Works mills rails into CZ97s. I'm sure you could find someone offering a service. Doesn't exactly help you but on a cheaper/easier route, ReCover Tactical makes grip panels that add a rail to the 1911, 92fs, and Gen 2 Glocks.

I've got the Novak rail on mine. Like Conn said, it sits a little lower. I had to use a heat gun on my raven holster to get it to fit.

I wish that Novak was available.  Of course it came out about a month after my pistol was done.  The Caspian is so low there were no holsters that you could modify with a heat gun like yours. The only holster that was drop in was a Safariland drop leg.  Not exactly practical.

Looks slick.
Would like to try to make one for old Sig. Not sure if practical.
Or maybe just find an old trigger guard mount that Surefire use to make and call it done.

No sides - just steak!  The Zinfandel in the SS "Chalice"  is due to my dogs repeatedly breaking wine glasses with their tail

the WTF gun is a Freedom Shoppe MPA930DMG 9mm Pistol – All Aluminum Lower that takes my registered Glock mags and has a permanently mounted quick disconnect suppressor mount

Sunday evening boredom brought on this project

Made a sheath/holster for this hatchet my SO got me for Christmas. I haven't decided on the beltloop or clip etc so there is no attachment point yet but that's the easy part anyways. It'll rivet right onto the back, whatever I end up doing.

The little fold is to create a ridge to push it open with your thumb. I was losing interest so I called it quits tonight but I'm going to unfold it and roll it over to create a lip for accessory cord to go through the rivets, holding it closed if backpacking or something.

I was looking at the Gerber, but realized this is the identical hatchet, for half the price.

Zeg, is the orange material ABS, Kydex, or other?

This is a typical flop storm to gain viewers . Change the outcome at the last minute. They had huge totals for the entire state up until last night. Then it quickly changed to the northwest corner getting the most snow while southeast getting mostly rain
