A sand pit/ old gorge your allowed to shoot on in Hartland?

Somebody was trying to tell me about it today, said they go down there with their SKS.

Thought Id ask, sounds iffy to me but what do I know. Its state land designated for hunting or something . .

Ill see if I can get more details tomorrow.

(Its a customer, for anyone wondering. No, I didn't bring it up, nor does he know I own guns, he just thinks all my friends are really into it. hahaha)

I've stumbled upon areas in state forests, state parks, and in one instance a property operated as a town park where it was evident that informal target shooting had occurred at some point.

However, target shooting is prohibited in state forests and parks, except on designated ranges.

ETA: And, in the town park property, hunting and firearm discharge were prohibited by municipal ordinance.

Paddle faster, I hear banjo music!

Its like trying to teach a pig to sing. Its a waste of your time and after a while you realize the pig likes the attention.

There is gravel pit in Hartland Vt that is owned by the state. Since so many people shoot there they are going to build up a better backstop and add some berms along the side for noise control.
