I just had to go through this whole thread to remind myself that Spring and warmer weather are coming.
Nice pictures all. I took my sled out yesterday and the heat gauge isn't working.
Going to ride it up to the repair shop shortly, I'll take the camera with and see if anything strikes me. eta- here they are. Something different I guess. Passed some other neat stuff, no pics of. Next time.
The barn is kind of remote in the middle of a big hayfield. I happen to know a lot of whitetails have been shot from up top. |

Dad and I before our departure on the B17 "Nine O Nine" at the Manchester airport.
Looking out over the Norden Bombsight,Londonderry NH below.
From the left window of the forward gunner
Out the top shot darn near ripped the camera out of my hands.
Left waistgunners view, somewhere over Londonderry NH
This is the plane but this is not my shot, scanned off the souvenier 8x10 we got. Yes I also bought a T-shirt! Not a cheap ride by any means but I will say it was the best $800 I ever spent.(I paid for dad's ride too) If you ever get the chance to fly on one of these old aircraft I highly recommend it. Its worth the cost. ![]() |

I took my Grandfather to see the Nine O Nine this summer down in Sanford. He was a tail-gunner in B-17s and flew his missions all over Europe. I believe that poking around a B-17 with my Grandfather that day has been one of the most unforgettably profound, proudest, and touching moments of my life. M1RifleNut, thanks for posting your pictures and your experience. |

Congratulations! Wish I knew something anything about photography. My brothers bought me a digital camera a couple of years ago, and I just point and click. I'm very mobile is all, if I'm not working, I'm out looking around. So much to see, so little time. |

I don't know how to make it link to a full size pic? so http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86/mossie500/edgiewide.jpg Yes,this is the scene of Teddy K's late night swim. |

I grew up in MA, moved to CO in 04 and to WA in 08. I absolutely love the Pacific Northwest, but this thread made me miss being home.
Thanks for posting all the pictures! |

On my recent trip to Maine, we had dinner at the Pelletier's Family Restaurant in Millinocket. The Pelletier's have the Discovery Channel show American Loggers. The food was great! If you are in the area its definitely worth checking out.
