Some random photos of the wonders of New England

Fly fishing on the West River in Vermont:

In the "wilderness" in Northern Maine on our own.  Small moose foraging. We were only about 50' away.

Flying to our remote site via float plane.  The top of Mt. Katadin

Camping at Cobscook Bay/Bay of Fundy just South of Lubec.  The most peaceful, beautiful, and most awe inspiring campsites on the planet, bar none.  25' tide emptied the bay twice a day.

My, my, New England has some of the most beautiful scenery in the entire country.  You Mainers are really spoiled!

Yes we are. haha.  I drove up to Topsfield (Washington County) and wish I thought to bring the camera.  A lot of great scenery.  That one pic of the Moose you have, was that taken on the Allagash?

Very much near there.  My wife and I were on a tiny "lake" just Southeast of there on a 5 day fly-fishing trip where our pilot just dropped of off and said "see ya" in 6 days.   Totally on our own, no power, no phones, no nuttin except eating, sleeping, and fishing and....well......you get the idea.  I love the North Woods.  I've been up there numerous times under the same circumstances.  There's nothing better then being totally, 100% on your own knowing that you are responsible for your own safety and circumstance.

I can't do short and sweet. I just can't.  (Pic heavy links.)

I think that's most of 'em. Interest seems to be waning, I may stop posting threads like these, it's pretty time consuming, between uploading the pics to a host and then posting it all....
Sorry for the hijack.

change "forums" to "archive" in the URL for archived posts

alright, I'll post just a couple here though. Short and sweet.

Going to canoe from Fryeburg? That's an awesome trip. I did that a couple times about 5-6 years ago. What a blast.
We had a "barge" of 6-8 canoes lassoed together, pretty typical sight, but what a riot! Good times.

I've started taking 302 across the White Mountains sometimes, really nice like the Kancamangus.

Yep. I went last year too. As long as the weather holds up its a relaxing and crazy time, lol. What a beautiful river and surrounding landscape.

Great pics to btw, Do you have any of the Connecticut Lakes? We stayed at the timberland cabins on 1st ct lake a few years ago. Didnt fish so well but nevertheless a great time. I wish I brought an ATV!!!

Last year's trip up Mt Washington's Cog Railway. The weather was less than perfect and the view (once above cloud level) was quite obscured.
