I use the Village Gun Store in Whitefield Nh also. Stan and his wife Sandy are excellent to do business with, and I haven't had anyone beat his price yet on anything I've wanted to buy!
Two thumbs up! |

Four Seasons is a great gun shop!
We Are Guns in Norton Mass is also pretty good. It is run by a guy out of his house. Pretty cool guy and place. |

I'll give Four Seasons and Carl two more thumbs up. This store is by far the best I've ever been to. They are very friendly and knowledgeable, and have the best prices in Mass. Collectors Coin Gallery in Stoneham seems pretty good as well. Nice shop, decent prices, and the owners seem like good guys. One shop to avoid in Mass, however, is the Powderhorn in Hyannis, on Cape Cod. The owner is a miserable sob.

Hey Propguy, how does the Powderhorn stay in business? I went there for a couple officers mags and a case of .45acp, and the jackass shit all over me. He produced 1 Colt factory mag, covered with rust, and wanted $25. I said (hoping to negotiate the price down) I can get Wilson Combat mags for the same price, and they're the best you can get. At this point he said to me "Oh yeah? Good. Go buy them from them, than. I don't need this sale." I said ok, I'll skip the case of ammo too,and kiss my ass. I'll NEVER go in there again.

I hear ya I went for a tranfer went down asked if it was OK the guy says yea gives me the FFL I ask is it $ per transfer or if there is more than one can we work out something he says Yea I go back after they call to pick up the toy"s" and the guy LOUDLY SAYS THEY ARE 40 EACH FREIND I REPLY you said we could work out a better price than 40 each for the SAME DAMN THINGS He says this time and this time only "F" Him He does not have to worry about that ps he lnocked off a whopping 10 bucks so I put the 10 bucks in gas and now go to M&M in Plymouth! Thats a great place also! 80 $ ++++ a 1/2 hour is Fing nuts It takes 15 min or so to make the call and fill out the form"s" PG |

Howell's Gun Shop in Gray, Maine (exit 11) is also WAY overpriced. They mark everything up 30% or more.
Keeps em in business though, the owner drives a brand new $100k Hummer...yellow. Did alot of business with them for a couple years, but then got wise. |

I like M&M too, and they are my closest fun store, but his gun prices are higher than Four Seasons. I think he wanted like $850 for the SW1911 and Four Seasons only wanted right around $699-725. |

I'll second this one. Dick's a good guy, and one of the few I have found that wont bend you over, if you want a transfer. He just recently transfered two stripped lowers for me. only charged me $20. |

Bethany Firearms in Bethany, CT is another one of those small places but Chris is good people and his prices range from great to fair. The only drawback are his hours...Wednesday to Saturday.

In Western Massachusetts,
www.jurekbrothers.com Three brothers, Steve, Greg and Alan. I have spend thousands with these guys. Excellent prices on ammo ($142.00 for 1000 rounds of Federal M193 .223) plus they are a Class III dealer as well. Tons of LE stuff and tactical gear. Also in South Hadley MA: Joe Cartabona Personal Defense Specialist Inc. 570 Newton St South Hadley MA 01075 413-533-9286 I bought 1 of my preban AR-15's from him and a Colt Gold Cup 45. He sells top notch stuff no junk there. Plus he's doing a gun transfer for me from an auction I won from www.Gunbroker.com A very pleasant guy to deal with. ADDED 5-24-04 www.fsguns.com/ Only the largest gun shop in Mass. |

I'll second Dave's. Went there for the first time a few days ago. Seems to be an ok place. Everybody friendly. Good selection of postban AR's. Manager (I think) shoots AR's and is building one for himself. Good prices and pretty good selection on handguns too. I'll definitely go back. A little hard to find from south county. If you don't know where they are located, call first for directions and don't wander around on the "wrong" Post Road for a while like I did. Any other good shops in RI? |

If you're close to RI, or in South East MA then the place to do is North East Trading.
Rt 152/580 Kelly Blvd North Attleboro, MA 508-695-4852 800-473-3006 North East Trading I know the owner Ted pretty well. I'm in there all the time, and he's part of my shooting club. He's always bent over backwards to get you what you want, even if he doesn't have it in the store. I've been to Fourseason, I love that place, but Ted will rivel their prices. He's insanely inexpensive and carrys a lot of AR's, Cowboy, and many Pistols that are hard to find. He's also our local area Dillon Reloder supplier. If you're in the area, I really suggest just stopping in just to see, and to talk to him. You will be supprised. |

I think most of the gun shops that I know of have been mentioned. But I know of a few great gunsmiths. Dave Pidgeon is fantastic and also has a variety of firearms for sale as well and can get you whatever you want. My grandfather dealt with him for years....great guy too. Loui Laberge who is located in Charlotte is another excellent gunsmith. He even has his own range for people to use as well...not sure on what the distances are though. The third smith I know actually works at the Powder horn now. His name is George Pipper, very knowledgeable guy and has even gone to school for various firearms.
