I'm now 65 and up until now I've been buying my hunting license online. Today I tried to buy one, but the plain old generic 2014 Resident Hunting License does not show up on the list of licenses I am eligible for.

I can buy deer, turkey and bear licenses online, but no kind of generic hunting license. I can find pages on the state web site that say I don't need various licenses and permits, but nothing that says I'm exempt from "general hunting license" as described on  the license purchase page.

I don't hunt much, just rabbits and squirrels, mostly I want legal use of the public rifle ranges. Can any of you other old geezers or experts tell me if once I hit 65 I don't need no steenking annual hunting license?

what you need is a lifteme senior citizens hunting license.  You cannot purchase this license online, it can only be purchased at the department of wildlife.  Cost is $15

ETA:  price for combination lifteme senior citizen hunting/fishing is $25

I've had a lifetime license for years and have no ideal but I would get the combination hunting and fishing license. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies and info. I was hoping to print out a new license and be on the road to the range early Monday but that idea was doomed to failure.

The state website does seem to say that I have to appear in person to buy the senior license, but the application form has one line that says "For mail-in orders blah blah blah and allow three weeks" so I'm trying that. I'm not very interested in spending a day and gas money driving to OKC and back.
