I imagine the fire crews out working in the heat are getting taste of that kind of heat . We need to be sending prayers up for all of the fire crews across the state that are fighting fires in this heat it was a pretty busy weekend where I'm from multiple fires and a lot of mutual aid from other departments.

I'm losing a nice spruce tree that has been established for a few years. It is pretty frustrating. Tomorrow is a day we get to water so I hope I can save it.

We did see a few clouds today.... That is a small miracle all by itself.

I know it's hot as hell in my house; even with all the windows open and fans going full blast; I'm thinking I might have to buy a window unit for my bedroom just to be able to sleep comfortable

I would water it anyway's using a soaker hose or drip irrigation. If I used soaker hose I'd water for a few minutes at a time, using drip irrigation with 1 or 2 gph drips it'd be longer. I use both on my garden, 10 minutes on the soaker hose, and 30 minutes on 1 gph drippers, I have about 35 drippers.

Yes it has been hot alright. Our AC died last Thursday. New unit arrived today and was just installed. Down to 76 in here already. Thank God.

You have my sympathy brother, the AC stopped working at my home last week needed the fan that keeps the condenser cool replaced and he topped the central unit off with refrigerant it cost $300 before the guy left the house. Then the AC stopped working on my Yukon we still don't have it working wont get it working again till I get paid, not sure what it will cost though. I think it was the compressor , but with the newer vehicles its hard to tell .

It hit 140*F here yesterday. And I spent it sitting on top of an alaska barrier tieing up camo netting with paracord.

They were saying that last year when this happened. This is at least the second year of exceptional drought conditions for the area.

114.8F on my weatherstation. Already took out one Bradford pear and the other isn't long for this world either.

My lawn is toast, last year's heat and drought helped the weeds get a real head start this spring, next spring I might as well kill the Bermuda and grow Johnsongrass and pigweed instead.

The bright side is the lawn never needs cutting, the bad side is, well, everything else. It's so hot I saw two fire hydrants fighting for the same dog.
