Schedule all of a sudden cleared this year and it's nice weather. GF says yea lets go camping, her first time.

What do you guys suggest. Prefer a campsite that's not right on top of others.

Since I'm bringing a newbie there needs to be bathrooms somewhat available.

About 2-3 hours from white's ferry.

Shenandoah? What do you guys suggest. I don't want to go in blind and have a rougher than usual camping trip for her first time.

We used to take the kids to Shenandoah NP.Big Meadows campground, camp at a walk-in site. You have to walk your gear to the site. They have bathrooms scattered around the area. Hiking trails, horseback riding close by.

Cove is a good first camp, short term/last minute option.  Call first and see if they have openings.

Great spots in Bentonville along the Shenandoah. The best I've seen is right across the river from the public boat launch.

Camping is $17 per person per day, $10 for electrical hookup.  Yes its not free, but lake, walking trails, 4x4 trails and a shooting range.

There are cabins available, which are in line with a hotel room.

$17 per day to use the range all day, all about 1.25 hours from NoVa.
