He's already the congress critter for the 4th district.

When they redrew the 3rd and 4th districts they added a lot of minority (read democrat) areas from the 3rd to the 4th. Enough to sink a republican in the 4th but not enough to sink Bobby Scott from his permanent seat in the 3rd. I think the 4th also picked up a little bit of the 2nd as well. Unfortunately I was moved from the 2nd back into the 3rd where I was 2 elections ago.

Rigell in the 2nd is not running for reelection.

No one is even bothering to run against Scott. He has one of the safest and most gerrymandered congressional seats in the nation.

How does a Republican controlled General Assembly give congressional seat to the Dems? They drew the new map right?

Whether there was shenanigans in the past, I don't know. But I was a bit miffed when I got a letter in the mail a couple weeks ago saying that my district changed. Not a horrible change thankfully. But I still wasn't all that happy about it.

Yea they redrew the districts, it drew a big stink here in Southampton/Isle of Wight Counties and even more of a stink when they wouldn't listen to appeals to set it back the way it was.

Personally, I stay out of politics down here, too many stuck up rich preps in these two counties for me to want to choose which one to let screw me over.

Wish they had moved me out of the 11th into Wolfe's 10th District.   Fucking Connolly.  And the Fairfax Cty excuse for a GOP isn't going to make an effort to run someone against him.

The same way the VA GOPe withdrew support in our governor's race and even had their favored guy support McAwful.  There is a collusion that is aimed against us.

I got a similar letter a couple weeks ago telling me that this neighborhood just south of Fredericksburg is no longer in the 1st District but has been moved to the 7th.  I still haven't figured out why such a minor adjustment was necessary.

They moved the line that divides the 2nd from the 3rd from a road 3/4 of a mile south of my neighborhood to a street 1/2 mile north of my neighborhood. We were pretty much the only neighborhood in the city that was effected.
