...and it was not nearly as inexpensive as I expected

...since this followed me home

10/22 Takedown.  Takes all of about two seconds to assemble or disassemble....and supposedly holds zero.  Fairly inexpensive...until you start swapping out components and adding accessories, like the Leupold I just ordered to sit on it.

Anyway, good guys there.  Like to support the LGS whenever I can, especially when they are charging a fair price, which was the case here.  And the sign on their door makes me feel even better about supporting them:

Love doing business with QT. Especially since they only charge one transfer fee if multiple firearms come in one package. I have bought multiple firearms from them as well, the price can't be beat for .mil/LEO/fire/EMS.

Of all the stuff I buy at the Winchester Gun Show, I'd say 95% of my purchases are from QT when they are here.

Big fan of QT. I've had enough lowers shipped there to put me on a watch list. Not to mention buying my carry pistol from them. Was just there last night picking up a few more. Good people.

QT is good people, and I can't walk in the shop without my wallet jumping out to shake hands.  Lots of fun stuff.

I told my wife getting a place as close to Quantico Tactical as she did means it will be a lot more expensive living there than she anticipated...

A great company to deal with, I've been known to make the r/t from N of Winchester to shop with them.

I've never been able to find instructions on their website, but this is what I do:

1) Order from the vendor and provide the following FFL info:

Quantico Tactical
13329 Worth Ave
Woodbridge,  VA  22193
Telephone:  703-910-7683
Fax: 703-995-4323
Email:  [email protected]

They may not ask for all of this.  Provide whatever they ask for.

2) Send an email to [email protected], with a subject line mentioning an incoming transfer.  Inside the message, specify:

Your info:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone number

Vendor info:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Fax number
- Email address
- Instructions they have for the FFL

Order info:
- Order number
- Order content

3) Wait for QT's call.  No need to bug them until they call you, which they will after your stuff arrives and they process it.

BTW, the prices you see quoted for QT transfers are for Team Quantico members, but you can join at the store at no cost.  There is an extra fee, however, if you decide to tell them about your days back in Force Recon as a Space Shuttle Door Gunner.

Great service with my transfer. Firearm delivered at 11:30 on the 11th and at 6:15 the same day they called to let me know it was ready for pick up.

I've had other transfers aand have had to wait a few days for a call.

Thanks for a fast turnaround.

Hi QT-

In the past, we had fill out an index card in advance at the store in person before the transfer.  I'm guessing this is no longer required?

Well, just to bookend this post, the synthetic 10/22 is no more.  I got a bit carried away with my inexpensive portable rifle.

- Mike Warren customized Walnut Sporter stock
- Leupold VX-1 Rimfire 2-7x28
- One-piece DMZ mount
- KIDD 2 stage trigger
- KIDD bolt handle charging assembly.

Probably will leave well enough alone now since my goal wasn't a tack driver.

Probably, but we'll see.

Yeah, when I decide to do something, I do it...regardless of whether or not it makes sense.

I blame the fact that I have been able to get .22LR again.

Dammit. Stopped by the Potomac shop today and put a Surefire Ryder 9 in jail.

Please tell me this is not going on sale.
